Sorry mate you are talking shit, why do you keep going on about speed and Lacy not being able to box? Lacy is hardly going to go in there trying to outbox him is he? He'll be looking to exert pressure and land some heavy artillery. You seem to think this is a walk in the park for Calzaghe when it's clearly going to be the toughest fight of his career and coming when his abilities may well be on the wane. Whoever wins I doubt very much it will be one sided either way.

I hope Calzaghe can win it then move up to light Heavy and face either of the following:-

Woods
Tarver
Johnson

If he could be victorious over Lacy then beat 2 of the men at light heavy it would be a good finish to his career.

I would have to make Lacy a slight favourite for this. If Joe wins I think it would be a fantastic achievement at this stage of his career and with his recent poor run of opponents. For me, Joe has not yet proved he's the best in the division. I'd like to have seen him in with Anthony Mundine, Danny Green, Sven Ottke and Mikkel Kessler over the past couple of years. In fact, the only guy he has fought in the current top ten in the division is Robin Reid and that was six years ago. If Joe wins, I would put him in P4P top 10 in the world. I hope Lacy wins this though, I've never liked fighters who avoid tough fights for most of their careers.

I have given it a bit of thought since this morning before putting my prediction, but after umming and arring all morning I think Calzaghe will win if his dodgy hands hold out the 12 rounds or however long it will last. I just can't see Lacy winning unless its an early KO....

JC TKO round 9....Providing it goes ahead in the first place of course

Its a hard fight to call alright. But Lacy seems on a real roll at the moment (and is keeping himself busy), whereas Joe is starting to appear a bit lacklustre and there's always the danger that he knacks his hand during the fight like he did last time. So I'd go for Lacy by TKO 6-8. If it happens....

I think I'm going to leave it until the day of the fight myself. It is a tough one to call, though. I do think Lacy is being overrated by some, but Joe is most definitely not the fighter he was.

I pick Lacy on points or even a late TKO. Calzaghe I feel is on the slide and Lacy will be too strong, tough and put too much pressure on the older Welsh fighter.

Wonder what the bookies will make of this? I imagine if it was in the USA, Lacy would be slight favorite, but seeing as it's Cardiff I reckon this will be near enough pick em.

I've read Lacy has a great chin, but I don't see where he's proved that. Wasn't he shaken up by Sheika? And ko'd as an amateur a few times I heard too.

Calzaghe is a very fast starter, and before his hands "go" he'll be testing Lacy's chin a few times I think.

JC is definitely on the slide. even two years ago, I would have him down to stop Lacy

I was at the Millenium stadium a few weeks ago and there were 74,400 people in attendance. Its easy to say lacy will bash him or joe will smash him. In reality these are arguably the top two super middle weights in the world, both undefeated and both have an incredible will to win.
After watching lacy, I am tempted to give him the advantage in this fight. Approx 60/40 in his favour. BUT some on this forum should not be narrow minded, Joe has fast hands, great boxing skills and could give Lacy the hardest fight of his career to date.
What tactics will joe use to win the fight? He likes a good tear up but going toe to toe with Lacy seems the wrong idea. maybe he wil try to out box him for 12 rounds.
Joe will take shots though and big ones they will be.
Naturally I will be supporting joe but this will be a very hard nights work, and joe will have to fight out of his skin to win. He will hit Lacy with more punches than he's ever been hit with before, How will lacy react to this?

I would agree with that assessment, It's Calzaghe's lack of competitive matchups of late which is the major worry. Calzaghe does have excellent boxing skills, but he really hasn't used them since often, because he hasn't needed to. He's gotten into the habit of standing there whaling away, and that seems like a bad idea agaisnt Lacy, but who knows, perhaps Calzaghe could blast him out of there.

Of course Calzaghe has a chance, but Lacy is the man in the ascendency with the momentum and Calzaghe has been treading water for a long time. The question is can he raise his game at this late stage when he appears to be slipping a bit? I am not convinced.

Calzaghe's poor opposition of late and lack of competition makes it a really interesting fight, Lacy is fresh and hungry and has a solid all round look about him. It's a real pick 'em in my view, you can't really be sure either way i don't think about what will happen.
