Has Anyone Watched Carlos Ortiz v Sugar Ramos I ?

Very controversial fight which I've never seen, so I'd be interested in hearing the comments of anyone who has.

Billy Conn the referee stopped the fight because Ramos's eye was turned into hamburger, making Ortiz the winner by TKO. The Mexican crowd went ballistic, not letting the fighters leave the ring and shoving some Mexican ref out of the crowd and into the ring to try to start the fight back up. Eventually Ortiz and his people manage to leave, and the promoter, fearing a riot, says that if Ortiz doesn't return in 10 minutes, Ramos will win by DQ. Well, naturally Ortiz never comes back and so Ramos is declared the winner, which is later overturned.

IMO the stoppage was completely legitimate. There was no real controversy, only the actions of the blood-thirsty crowd.

Thanks. Did Carlos Ortiz look badly hurt when he was dropped in the 2nd rd ?

It was a perfect shot and a clean knockdown, but Ortiz was not badly hurt and recovered quickly.
