Chisora's new opponent

Post by JimJim2009 »

Delboy Chisora's new opponent for the Copperbox show has been announced as 14-0 Italian Matteo Modugno. Yes, that Matteo Modugno.

Credit to the promoters for delivering the big name opponent they promised when this show was announced.

Now that the opponent has been announced, I would expect the promoter will soon be in touch with Modugno's handlers in the coming weeks to see if he wants to come over and face Chisora. If so, they might discuss financial terms, and Modugno might even fit in a bit of training, and could possibly agree to the fight. But, one step at a time of course. First thing is to announce that its on :TU:

Matteo Modugno doesn't seem to be ranked by the EBU.

Are you allowed a refund if the old bait and switcharoonie tactic is used?

Or does allegedly take legal action if you try?

i think there will be less people at this than the last fights at the copperbox and that had a vast amount of empty seats

The tickets generally say "a night of championship boxing". From a legal perspective if you buy a ticket from this promoter when he stages (for example) Golovkin vs Mayweather for the WBA middleweight championship, and on the night of the show you actually get Enzo Macarrinelli vs Nathan Cleverley for the WBU cruiserweight championship, there is jack xxxx you can do from a legal perspective. They deliberately don't name the fighters on the tickets.
