Rose v Maciel

Post by Old bones Ian »

I think this could be a tough night ahead for Rose, the Argentinian looks a good boxer with a decent chin and a punch.
Rose hasn't been that impressive of late, and needs to be on good form tomorrow. I'm going to have a look at the odds for this fight, as it might tempt me to part with some money.

Maciel.is a.very solid and very over looked guy, made Pirog look pretty average and has hurtful power. Was hoping Rose would be the favorite for my own bets.

Rose has never fought someone the calibre of Maciel. If you're getting stopped by Maxwell that doesnt well for this fight.

unless your all experts on argentinian boxing experts the only time you have seen him fight is against pirog, why dont yas get behind a fellow britain, instead of slagging him off

Actually ive watched a few of his fights. On top of that, Pirog far surpasses anything Rose has ever been in with! Yeah he knocked out Harris and Alcine but both were seriously shot and Alcine was a pretty poor champion at his best.

Most of his fights have been on TYC Sports so have been very easy to watch, either live or via video.

They aren't slagging Rose off mate, they're discussing who they think will win. If everyone said they thought the British fighter would win even if they don't believe it what would be the point?

Im not slagging him off, not everytime can i favour a British boxer. I happen to think that Rose will really need to be on form to win tonight. And i hope he does.
Im not a bad judge of boxers and this Argie is a good boxer, im impressed with the way Rose is willing to face a guy who most wouldn't go near.

Seen a lot of his fights and he can certainly bang particularly to the body, Miguel Diaz is here with him and they really fancy the job, I feel Brian is the better boxer but I am not sure he can keep this guy off him for the entire fight, I would love to see Rose win this but its a big ask, although he has all the home advantages so lets see how Macial travels.

Thats the way I see it, if Rose is not caught cold there could be a spell where he is popping and moving but unless Macial gets buzzed by something it may not be enough, I hope it is though.

Anyone find odds for a Rose points win? I won £6500 grand when he beat Arron so fancy a large punt if hes 3/1 or more to win

I thought Rose lost that fight by 2 rounds. If you watch fights with volume down and not listening to those bias commentators you see it for what it is ...another robbery

I posted in the other thread that I had Maciel by two rounds and I could make a case for a draw but off the top of my head I can't find another swing round to give to Rose. Might watch it again tomorrow. Rose showed some serious balls in that fight to keep fighting back when he was in trouble. 117-111 card is another disgraceful scorecard that are becoming increasingly expected in British boxing.

Lots of heart from Brian who dug deep , close fight but to score it 117-111 in his favour is yet again unbelievable & almost becoming the norm . Does the British boxing scene no favours .

117 - 111 was wrong. It was from the Spanish judge like, bear in mind the UK judge had it much closer. That being said i am not upset about Rose winning, he was worthy IMO.

1) Rose has some real bottle.

2) That scorecard is ludicrous and Rose's mum wouldn't have scored it that wide.
