It was top class.dookus wrote:Easily the best early stoppage protest I've ever seen. The ref looked like he wanted to disappear.

X2 I'm doing a nightshift when the clocks go back!!!!!Deserter wrote:Guys, not watching it over here, so would someone be kind enough to give me a bit more detail on the Smith fight - I can decipher he won by stoppage, but not sure what round, how he finished it and how he looked up to that point? Help a brother out
Re: Brook card RBR
Pretty much pulverised the bloke, though Acosta was tough obviously. Dropped him twice in the 6th with body shots, the second one he didnt even try and make the count for. He was sprawled out.
Re: Brook card RBR
Shocking stoppage why count if his mind was already made up? Crazy well done to the lad for making a complete fool of him
Re: Brook card RBR
Thanks mate. Smith really does appear the justify all the hype the way he's progressing.DMA1987 wrote:Pretty much pulverised the bloke, though Acosta was tough obviously. Dropped him twice in the 6th with body shots, the second one he didnt even try and make the count for. He was sprawled out.
Re: Brook card RBR
Smith won in the 6 th he had the fellow backing up for the most and had to duck some swings, he pressured Acosta to the ropes constantly and got him with a left hook to the body and a left uppercut though it looked to be the body punch that did it.

Another scouse Hype job, is there any other kind of scouse fighter?
He does look good, but it is an very competitive division.

Anyone got a running order?
Re: Brook card RBR
What? He isn't exactly disappointing. And if you listened to him he always diffuses the hype.ThereByTheGrace wrote:Another scouse Hype job, is there any other kind of scouse fighter?

Would love to see him in with Mundine soon. He would put that moron on his backside and will be hilarious to watch.DMA1987 wrote:Impressed with Smith. On par with Mundine and Stieglitz and only his 9th fight

Etches first round stoppage. Opponent's corner threw in the towel just before the end of the first round.
Re: Brook card RBR
It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Etches ended up signed by Hearn.

If that guy scored 9 knock outs from 10 fights then his level of opposition must be unbelievably horrific.columbo wrote:Mendes looked atrocious.
Re: Brook card RBR
Yeah, what a terrible stoppage. The corner could've waited two seconds and talked to Mendes between rounds before deciding to stop it or not. He didn't even go down. Sure he was barely throwing, but people have come back from much worse rounds than that. That was barely a fight, Mendes probably threw 5-10 punches.
Re: Brook card RBR
Etches needs a good step up now did look ruthless there
Re: Brook card RBR
Thats what I was thinking watching it. Etches looked very powerful no doubt but Mendes was pretty bad.ShadrachSimmo wrote:If that guy scored 9 knock outs from 10 fights then his level of opposition must be unbelievably horrific.columbo wrote:Mendes looked atrocious.

I agree, it seems to be a South American thing these days. Etches did well though and showed good variety.ShadrachSimmo wrote:If that guy scored 9 knock outs from 10 fights then his level of opposition must be unbelievably horrific.columbo wrote:Mendes looked atrocious.

The key question tonight is: Will we see the little fat man Hamed at some point?
