And fair play to him but coming on here and having a go at people for having an opinion and there's only one dickhead. If you look at this thread no-one was slagging Rose. Having you as his voice on boxing forums isn't going to endear him to many people, I'll tell you that.Adam1991 wrote:who gives a eff what you bunch of dickheads say youve been slagging him and slagging him since he got beat by maxwell well guess what were at the top now fighting the elite.. hope youve all enjoyed the journey cause we all have!! 115-114 Maciel
I don't have a problem with Rose being narrowly ahead, but scores like 117-111 are hometown stuff and even 116-113 seems a bit wide. In my opinion, there was also hometown judging in Rose's fight with Alcine, as he was apparently way ahead on the cards in what I thought was a close fight. If I recall correctly, our mate Adam1991 launched a polemic against those who didn't think Rose was easily beating Alcine.

Dont do him no favors on here Peno to be fair mate...
I agree with you though in the fact he doesnt get the credit he deserves on a lot of these forums, these people have there opinion and they are entilted to it, we have ours snd we are obviously biased at times. He always does just enough but managed to get the win. I wish he upped his workrate at key moments and didnt stand toe to toe as often, give him self half a yard and keep his opponents at range on the end oc jabs and combos rather than getting involved. However, he showed true grit and dug in deep when needed. i had him one round up.
That Spaniard is on another planet,. 117-111 is ludicrous. We will enjoy the ride, go Stateside have a party and maybe, just maybe he can pull another win out the bag when he needs it the most.
Not an impossible task by any stretch of the imagination.

He has some real bottle and took some hammer, I thought the other bloke won by a couple but that's that, I've not seen anything that's right against Brian on here; I'm from Doncaster and see Jason and his dad Johnny from time to time and they'd want the best for him as well. He seems a really decent man; if he can still improve he may prove people wrong but there won't be many on here hoping and pulling for him to lose - there's not many horrible people that stay for long.

I was impressed by his metal tbh, nobody has seen that of him because hd has never been asked those questions before tonight. His defense was outstanding and took maciels best and cane back with his own scoring shots. I do wish he would have a bit more lateral movement and move his head a bit more.
You couldnt argue the fight going either way but we see it week in week out at the minute... No more so with Matchroom sorry to say very suspect scoring.. 117-111 was a joke. The result for me was the right one. Nobody could argue it a robbery never in a million years.
I hope Jason is doing well with his life after Boxing ;) Credit to the sport.

A tough determined kid is rose! That gash on the bridge if his nose looked painfull!
He dug in kept it tight never looked sloppy or tired he saw of a live opponent there, very close but very deservant!

Big respect to Brian went up a level again in my opinion shown he has good heart determination and chin.
Couldn't pick a winner last night but the 117-111 card was a joke.
Still no idea how good the WBO Champ will be will find out Nov 9th

Re: Rose v Maciel
He's done well to get this far, can't help but think he has now over-achieved really and I really can't see him winning that world title on last night's form. He's a good, well-schooled boxer with a lack of power and that just won't be enough at world level.

So a tight win last night, hope he can go on and get that world title shot.
Whats the deal with the WBO title? is Baysangurov no longer champion?

He has over-acheived since winning the British title apparenty but he keeps winning, however it comes across on the big screen. ;)
No reason why he cant win again in the same fashion. Tall order, but those who know him believe and have never doubted his ability!
Win, Lose or Draw he can be very proud of his achievements!
Next stop USA!

Re: Rose v Maciel
I think the winner has to fight Baysangurov aswell due to him being out through injury or something. Rose might have to wait awhile for that title shot.Naandrew wrote:Vanes Martirosyan and Demetrius Andrade fight for the vacant belt on November 9th.Old bones Ian wrote:So a tight win last night, hope he can go on and get that world title shot.

He's good, solid fundamentals and a ton of bottle. The cards were a bit bizarre, it was a close fight and the difference is between whether you favour someone who boxes well with textbook boxing and jabbing, or someone who presses the fight continually, landing hard winging punches.
Re: Rose v Maciel
I had rose winning it, really surprised by him last night, classy jab. Just a shame he won't have the power to win a world title, hope he proves me wrong tho.
Re: Rose v Maciel
Rose has got good skills no doubt. His jab was great last night to be fair. I think Maciel didnt fight a particularily smart fight though to be honest. He was loading up and missing quite wildly and tiring himself out. He's always been pretty crude but I thought he was more so than usual last night and hitting thin air and draining himself in the process.orbtastic wrote:He's good, solid fundamentals and a ton of bottle. Re: Rose v Maciel
I just had rose winning by landing the cleaner shots, he took a lot on the gloves and defended well
Re: Rose v Maciel
The Argentine was dreadful, just throwing hay makers and missing with many or hitting arms, his conditioning was very bad, Rose showed how brittle he is when put under pressure and did not work enough, a poor Eliminator for a world title, the guy who will be facing Rose for title must be licking his lips, When you think of who Kell Brook has met and still not fought for a world title it's a joke.

Ndou, Matthew Hatton, Carson Jones X2, Senchenko are Brooks biggest names. Hardly World beaters are they........ Senchenko won a World Title fight granted but he isnt the best. Rose would box Senchenkos ears off for 12 rounds. No problem.
Re: Rose v Maciel
Enjoyed the rose fight could of went either wAy in my eye s big well done to team rose
Re: Rose v Maciel
It was the best fight of the night Rose will have won some fans last night.
I felt for Marciel he probably edged it IMO but Rose proved his toughness and manned out a win.
He did enough to get a deserved home decision his lack of power was evident but he is still great to watch.
Cut looked nasty and he still got the job done Well done Brian Rose.

Re: Rose v Maciel
It was too close to call. I far preferred Rose's work but he needed to be a bit busier as there was always a chance Maciel's erratic bursts might impress the judges. Rose stood up to more than I thought he could, fair play.
