Huge step up (on paper ) for Leigh Wood .

Post by damianhucker1 »

Nottingham Super Bantamweight Leigh Wood will face Brazilian opposition at Clifton Leisure centre on Nov 1st.

Wood has never boxed anyone with more wins than losses yet, despite him being a promising prospect, but the 9-0 record hes amasses thus far will be put to the test when he takes on Genilson de jesus Santos , whos record reads 23 wins 5 losses with 22 of his wins coming inside the distance.

The Undercard features Fergus Taylor (who came through my Unlicensed events and is currently 3-0), Terry Maughan, Chris Goodwin , Atif Shafiq and Gordon Watson, plus the debut of a local lad in Nathan Kirk.

We've seen a few of these South Americans with alot of ko's on their records. Most of them flatter to deceive.
Its an unknown quantity, most come over and fall in a few rounds. But now and again a good one comes over.

Huge Step BUT only on paper......... Imo This fight won't go more 4 rounds. He's tiny and has only won in Brazil against trouble opponents. His 5 loses have all been knockout this will not go far at all.. He's rated 225 in the world and that's at Super Fly weight :o
