Is Joshua stiff? *pardon the pun*
Is Joshua stiff? *pardon the pun*
Whenever I watch him he looks a bit mechanical and yeah stiff to me. I think he's a top talent in terms of boxing brain, power, hand speed when he throws in combination, etc but when you look at him to say a Lewis he looks I dont know mechanical somewhat. I dont know, maybe it's just me.

He's very athletic for such a big guy and I think we'll see that more as he develops as a pro.

I'm sure there's a lot of people on here who are too young to remember Lennox when he turned pro. Well I'm not and for those first few pro fights, Lennox looked like dog sh!t. He was mechanical, looked uncoordinated and clumsy, but had obvious power. Never in a million years did I think he would turn into an ATG.
Joshua is world amateur silver medalist and Olympic gold medalist so has the basic tools to do well. To me he has looked very good in his first two pro fights. Give the lad a chance. He's obviously a fast learner so I'm confident that as he moves along he'll iron out the flaws.

He doesn't move his head much. Good combos, though.

I've got to say I am pretty excited about Joshua. He looks like the best prospect in heavyweight boxing for donkeys years. So heavily muscled though, who the hell is telling him to hit the weights? The bigger he is now, the more gassed he is going to be in distance fights in future with all that bulk, and upper body muscles are not conducive to power, which is what his team must be thinking.
The other promising thing is I have seen him get clocked in the ams and his chin looks really solid.

Joshua hit the weights before he took up boxing apparently. He was talking about it the other day, saying he got big then went to the boxing gym.
He is muscular but it is amplified by his low body fat percentage. He is carrying eff all! Marvellous athlete that's for sure.
He is still quick though despite the muscle.

Spot on. Be an idea to get him on some US undercards to get his name out there, like Lennox.Newport Daz wrote:I'm sure there's a lot of people on here who are too young to remember Lennox when he turned pro. Hard to tell much from his first 2 fights other than he has bags of ability and has power. Looks a miles better prospect than Audley/Price ever did, on the contrary to the OP, I actually think he looks fairly loose and agile for a big heavyweight.
Re: Is Joshua stiff? *pardon the pun*
He quite obviously lifts weights. That's why he isn't lithe.
