Post by fightscorecollector »

31 scores collected for the WBO Eliminator for the 154lb title. Got to say this fight had the most varied scores stats i have collected for a fight ranging from 117-111 Maciel to 117-112 Rose

i had it 114-114, my full card is on the link..... http://www.boxingnewsonline.net/latest/ ... sco-maciel

I had Marcel 2 rounds up though don't begrudge Rose the win.
Hardly a stinker of a decision though.
Do not see Rose winning a World title anyway if honest but I like his style wish he had more power.

117-111 Rose is shocking though, it could have gone either way but that is far too wide.

I had maciel perhaps 3 up and thought it was a poor decision. Yes roses work was cleaner but his output was only 30 percent of maciel who did enough to consider himself germaned.

This is the problem with boxing though. Although i completely understand you're way of looking at the fight. I personally score it more on skill and shots picked over work-rate (within reason). I thought Rose's defense looked decent for most the fight and he was picking some nice shots and catching Maciel clean, just didn't have the power to hurt him. On the flip-side, Maciel didn't seriously hurt Rose either, just a bloodied nose, never truly rocked. From that performance, I would say Ross is the better boxer.

Rose deserved the win. His punches were cleaner and easier to see. Maciel had chances to get him out and if he was a bit more disciplined he would have done so.

Love it when the technician beats the brute. Its what Boxing is all about

Spot on, this is exactly how I see it. Rose did show heart too.
