Does anyone here do anything to do with schools boxing?

I have a lovely new gym which basically stands empty during weekdays. Plus I have a crap job as a bin man so would like to do something to do with boxing instead. I used to have a lady come to my gym that I've lost touch with now who worked at a special school that did a course at a boxing gym and something like that would really interest me. Does anyone on here do anything like this or have any info or advice on how to go about it please?

My Dad takes kids that have been thrown out of school, or if the schools don't want them in school because they cause trouble but can't throw them out, they send them to him. It's like a school, but there's no uniform, they let them out for dinner and instead of GCSEs, they have beautician courses, basic skills in English and Maths etc. I know you're in Portsmouth but if there was something like this in Preston he'd take some of the lads down. Put together presentations about what you're looking to do and go to schools etc. with them, if you get the kids down, the funding comes from the school or council. You don't need any qualifications either, my Dad has no GCSEs, just a foundation degree and as long as you pass a CRB check I can't see there being any issues on that front.

We did it, but it was padwork only, the technique was poor and the padwork we were taught was even worse. I would guess it would be difficult to do because of health and safety and qualified coaches would probably have to be brought in and the cost would be greater than the demand.

Billy, I think Frankie Gavin's trainer Tom Chaney does something like what you would like to do, if you get in touch with him through Frankie he would know the sorts of things you have to do.

The ABAE should have a Club Support Officer that covers southern counties and I'm sure they are always looking for venues to deliver non contact sessions during the day to school groups, young offenders, NEETs etc.
