Re: FROCH IS RATTLED!!!!!
Must admit I sat there cringing through the whole thing - it just lacked class - so unprofessional.
I think Froch is vastly experienced and tough as old boots - whilst Groves has youth, and that wonderful self belief that a fighter carries around before his first defeat. That may be enough to carry Groves through this - but there is no doubt that this is another world to any contest he has had before. I look forward to the bout with interest. Froch wins a decent battle here imho.

Re: FROCH IS RATTLED!!!!!
Froch did look a little rattled at times, as in - it was getting on his nerves and winding him up a bit.
I guess that's natural, he's a fighting man and another man goading you and putting down your achievements is going to wind anyone up a bit.
As for Groves, I know he's hyping the fight, but he's lost me to be honest, I just see an annoying smart arse, I hate people who jump in when someone else is talking, I hated all the smart arse wind up babyish stuff - I was embarassed for him and embarassed for how far he's fallen compared to how well he came across in the DeGale build up.
Now can't wait for Groves to get chinned, whereas before I was just looking forward to a good fight and hoping Froch won.

George "The Rattler" Groves vs Carl "The Cobra" Froch.
Battle of the Snakes
Given King Cobras eat other snakes, I'm going for Froch. By whole swallowing.

Re: FROCH IS RATTLED!!!!!
It seems that Carl wants to be treated with a sense of reverence after his long career.....it is winding him up that Groves is mocking him mercilessly. This is deliberate by Groves, and it is working.
Haye tried to wind up Wlad, but Wlad found it funny and turned the tables. Froch really isn't enjoying it...
Will it affect the result? Probably not as Groves is a bit fragile, but Groves is being very clever

Re: FROCH IS RATTLED!!!!!
not really. I don't watch as much as I once did, admittedly, but the man said if Froch took the same shot Paul Smith took from George Groves he'd be wobbled a bit but then come straight back. There's not much you can say to argue with that. Bringing up other fights about Kessler landing different shots on different parts of the face in different rounds doesn't take away from the massive likelihood that that if any fighter, never mind just Froch, got hit like that, they would go. But everybody's entitled to their opinionTheLeprechaun wrote:NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:no mate I didn't see it but I'd stand by what I just said.Riddick Blowe wrote:

Did you see the 11th round of Froch/Kessler II? Three flush power shots landed by Kessler, full weight behind them. Froch wobbles a bit but then charges straight back. Numerous other examples in other fights.
Taylor was a flash knockdown after a shot to the top of the head.
Noone is knocking out Froch. Noone.
I've noticed you don't actually watch much boxing but still have strong opinions on fights.
I find this pretty foolish because I can't imagine being able to analyze fights without having studied the intricacies of what the fighters do by watching the fights. With YouTube you also have no excuse
Can you understand where I am coming from?
Re: FROCH IS RATTLED!!!!!
Wlad was rattled if you ask me, I aint seen him act like that in a fighter before or since it was very uncharacteristic.... but made him switched on in the fight.... Haye's amazing confidence made Wlad realise that he was in with a live one so was incredibly focused.... much like he was vs Povetkin.thepocketrocket wrote:It seems that Carl wants to be treated with a sense of reverence after his long career.....it is winding him up that Groves is mocking him mercilessly. Re: FROCH IS RATTLED!!!!!
I thought the 'shake the magic hand' comment was part of Haye being intellectually patronised. But I agree Wlad was certainly focused because of Haye's confidence. Rattled I am not sure. If he was rattled I think Froch was close to a nervous breakdown LOLstujones wrote:Wlad was rattled if you ask me, I aint seen him act like that in a fighter before or since it was very uncharacteristic.... but made him switched on in the fight.... Yes, he does seem to want the red carpet a little bit; if Groves gets under his skin then it does show some psychological vulnerability, he ought to be pretty centered and unconcerned about what someone else thinks or says about him and content in his achievements, I'm looking forward to this bout and Groves is building it more than Froch who seems to be sitting on his laurels.

Kessler, a proven puncher, hit Froch square on the chin, hard, three times in the space of five seconds in the 11th round. Froch wobbled but came storming back in the round.NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:Bringing up other fights about Kessler landing different shots on different parts of the face in different rounds doesn't take away from the massive likelihood that that if any fighter, never mind just Froch, got hit like that, they would go. This led me to believe a single shot from a guy who hasn't proved to hit as hard as Kessler wouldn't end the fight, as you thought.

Re: FROCH IS RATTLED!!!!!
Having said that - Don't think Wlad was a "rattled" as Haye was... his behaviour was very odd.... refusing to go on Ringside with him..... disliking his "borat voice" intensely.... yet having some fun when doing Borat impressions.
I think his "rudeness" in not shaking Wlad's hand certainly pissed off Wlad... cause Wlad mentioned it on several occasions even when they'd finished that part of the interview.... but compare that to how Haye has been around the brothers since, always shaking hands etc.
It definately pissed off Wlad though, cause I think he even mentioned it post fight and his youtube parody of the broken toe was not like him.

Re: FROCH IS RATTLED!!!!!
Why did George say Hearn was not his promoter?
Re: FROCH IS RATTLED!!!!!
It was a 3 fight deal, this is his 4th fight, or 3rd if the fight in Germany doesn't count. Whatever happens, after this his deals up and I don't think he intends to resign. I'd expect to see Groves out again on the Haye-Fury undercard.Final round wrote:Why did George say Hearn was not his promoter?
Re: FROCH IS RATTLED!!!!!
So Froch is pissed off because he thinks that Groves is treating him the way that he treated Calzaghe ?

I'm not comparing anyone to anyone, I'm just stating a fact ! I'm surprised groves didn't use this to his advantage.columbo wrote:You're not honestly trying to compare Degale with Ward are you?! Yeah but it doesnt mean anything. Ward has proven himself to be a top talent in the pro ranks whilst Degale has still flattered to deceive somewhat, jessi wrote:I'm not comparing anyone to anyone, I'm just stating a fact ! Interestingly I just read on BS that Ward's trainer believes that Groves is gonna beat Froch. He really thinks it's gonna happen by all accounts.

I've had a look at your link just now. I'm not saying Groves is Kessler or anything like that but you're not comparing like with like. You sound like you're trying to convince yourself.Riddick Blowe wrote:Kessler, a proven puncher, hit Froch square on the chin, hard, three times in the space of five seconds in the 11th round. Boxing history is choc-a-bloc with guys that hadn't proved they could punch etc etc, knocking people out. It's boxing. Groves didn't hit Smith square either, he came round the side and personally, I thought there was an element of luck in the fact Smith moved his hand at just the wrong split second - although Groves said after the fight he looked for it! A bit like the false-starters in the 100m going on the B of the bang, I don't believe the brain works that fast. Smith was going to throw a jab just at the same time as Groves hit him, creating the perfect gap.
I know a guy that got stopped in round 1 live on Sky by a fighter with a 100% record who had never stopped anybody in his life, in a very similar circumstance.
You seem to be making out that Froch is incapable of being stopped - that's a massive mistake. Anyone can get stopped in boxing, including Mr Floyd Mayweather himself, don't believe different.
Re: FROCH IS RATTLED!!!!!
Froch is very tough and very fit and very game and he is still a man; he doesn't have a granite chin and he can be hurt and dropped; Groves hit Smith really hard and that other fellow, Sierra so hard that it seemed off to hit anyone that hard. If Froch falls for his own publicity and walks straight in then he will get smacked hard.NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:I've had a look at your link just now. Re: FROCH IS RATTLED!!!!!
Was he bollocks, groves was really trying and froch hardly gave anything to groves, groves was trying to make out froch was about to cry and stuff but froch was just ignoring him he mat no point seemed intimidated maybe just a little bit bored of him. Flys buzzing around my head get on my titts, they dont rattle me.thepocketrocket wrote:Froch definately rattled....Froch nuthuggers will deny it, but he wasn't happy.
May not affect the result, but very interesting
I dont understand the point in the tactic of trying to get under his skin other than to try and build up the hype, froch only fights one way he comes forward and goes to war and if you dont throw enough back he will move around you continuing to throw in volumes, he's not going to change that because you've pissed him off. It was also mentioned froch has dropped groves in sparring and barker who has sparred alot with both thinks froch will 100% win.
Interestingly they showed a face to face and froch told groves he was going to destroy him, he looked 100% serious and vicious about it, groves looked scarred to me. It is exactly how froch said, groves is trying to muster some self belief from somewhere and in his heart of hearts when his head hits the pillow at night he doubts himself.
Im a fan of both guys but groves just isnt at frochs level yet.
Re: FROCH IS RATTLED!!!!!
I do think there's a misconception about Froch as boxer when it comes to his style. He's not a straight up brawler. Whilst he's not the slickest guy going he does have some boxing ability and works behind his jab. Going on what some people say about him you'd think he just walks in completely gung ho which isnt the case. It was his jab more than anything that won him the rematch with Kessler. Kessler couldnt get out of the way of it.
Re: FROCH IS RATTLED!!!!!
No, to be irritated is something rather different than being rattled, but at the end of the day who gives a sh*t, Froch's going to paste him either way.
