cleverly at crusier
how can Nathan cleverly get a fight for the commonwealth cruiserweight title even though he's never boxed at the weight, I can think of loads of fighters that should be in front of him, in fact every cruiserweight in the commonwealth should be in front of him, is it a move to stay away from enzo ? it's out of order for the commonwealth council to even allow the fight to go ahead
Re: cleverly at crusier
Good question. I suppose if the defence is not mandatory then the promoters will select a fighter that will generate maximum interest and money. That fighter is Cleverly.
Re: cleverly at crusier
The criteria for commonwealth board seems to be:
a) title fights must involve at least one British fighter, preferably two
b) mandatory challengers can expect to wait ages for a shot, especially if African
c) if all else fails (and it will) just let promoters make their own bouts between their fighters for the title (see W.Limond)

Just a few suggestions:
Cleverly v Olafabi at 200 pounds - what happens?

Re: cleverly at crusier
Cleverly was British, Commonwealth, European and world champion at light heavyweight, he's now decided to move up and it isn't uncommon for fighters of his level to move up a division and straight into a title fight, I don't really see the issue.
