Maybe it's because he beat three other top ten all time heavyweight greats, seven IBHOF inductees, four Olympic Gold Medalists, won the championship as a 7-1 underdog and won it again as a 3-1 underdog.
You just answered your own question but of course it does not change the fact that he lost the biggest fight of his career. As it turns out one can be rated as one of the best of all time and still lose the big one.

As the most prolific pornographer of the twentieth century and possibly this one as well said "Opinions are like assholes.Everybody has one" or if you want to be nice you can replace assholes with noses.

Joe evidently didn't think the first bout was dispositive. That why he agreed to a second and third one.

Muhammad Ali doesn't just belong to us. He belongs to the ages.

Correct,

Tiger Woods hasn't won a 'Major Event' in years, and he's still ranked #1.
Your logic is flawed. We are discussing all time ratings...

Tony, why did you abandon protocol and give one of the combatants in the ring a respite during a round instead of in between them?

God Forbid, if Tony had 'Disqualified' Muhammad Ali,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :yay:

A 'DQ' was warranted in several Rounds.

Hung his head in 'shame' after the bout.

The spectators in Madison Square Garden, many of the 21,000 in attendance had
boo'ed the Decision and jeered Muhammad Ali.

But it was Tony Perez that they wanted, by calling him 'foul' and disparaging names.

Tony was hurried out of the Ring, and to an Office with 'armed security' outside
the door, as well as being surrounded by New York's Finest.

"Get the Bastard", they screamed.

All I ask is for any reader of this thread is to click on the youtube and go to the 54:55 mark to see documentary evidence of Il Duce's perfidy and utter contempt for the truth:

The KO in the Tua vs Ruiz bout happened very fast, I doubt hardly any referee would've been able to stop what happened. Cooney definitely got in a few unneeded shots against Norton though. With the Morrison vs Mercer stoppage it definitely went a bit longer than it should've, but considering Morrison was ahead in the bout it's somewhat understandable.

I never watched the other two bouts in question.

Wasn't Tua-Ruiz like 19 goddamn seconds? Unless Perez had a crystal ball, and stopped the bout beforehand, not sure what he could have done.

il duce is basically blaming Perez because a fast knockout happened in a boxing match.

In the case of the Jones-Griffin DQ, he's basically blaming Perez for not having the speed to stop a second punch by frigging Roy Jones jr., a weakness shared by every other person on the planet at the time.

Yes it was very short. Ruiz came out threw about 3 jabs, and then got wobbled really bad by a left hook and knocked into the ropes, Ruiz then flailed with a few weak punches back at Tua while Tua landed about 3 or 4 full force shots putting Ruiz down and out. This all happened very fast, as you say only 19 seconds in.

I despised John Ruiz as I'm sure most Boxing fans did due to his boring ass style, so I've watched back this 19 second fight quite a few times as I enjoy seeing Ruiz get laid out like that.

Probably Tua's best victory considering that Ruiz would go on to be a successful albeit boring as hell Titleholder.

Hey Tony, how many illegal cuffs does it take to get penalized ?

What? You brought up the other bouts! Hell, you spent a whole bunch of time making a damn image resuming your strange view on them, and now, because people see through what you're doing... "just forget them"? You went out of your way to bring them up!

You are full of shite about them, as you are full of shite about this one, and most everything else.
