Actually lets expand on this. What professional star American Athlete was the most decorated hero in the Vietnam War? So many to choose from. Baseball had Tom Seaver, Carl Yazstremski, Nolan Ryan, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron etc.

Football had Joe Namath, Jim Brown, Gale Sayers, Johnny Unitas, Bart Starr etc. (I guess we can't count Roger Staubach since he wasn't a star in the pros yet. Or Rocky Bleier either.)

Basketball had Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Oscar Robertson, John Havlicek etc.

Must have been a lot of Purple Hearts and other medals won from this group alone.

This country was founded on men and women who didn't have to do anything, but did it anyways. 1776, not everyone agreed what was the right cause to do, but all acknowledged something had to be done to establish our own personal liberty. I'm a human being with a functioning brain. I didn't say that every war was unjust , just most of them. The Revolutionary War, The War of 1812 and World War II all had to be done and there was no way to avoid them really.

I know my thoughts are controversial on matters like this, but I'm not wrong to say what I say, and I'm not speaking out against the Soldiers involved in these wars, on the contrary I'm speaking up for them and I hope the same mistakes aren't repeated again to traumatize another generation of people with this kind of thing. War is Hell undoubtedly, and anybody that was involved in any war has seen horrors and nightmarish things that I don't even want to imagine. I just wish for their sake that our government didn't put these young men in the position that they had to go through something so horrific for nothing, that's all.
