cracking book "shadowland" !!!

Post by johnnykayo »

just read a cracking book called "shadowland" its about the former british boxing promoter benny huntman who was a righthand man with jack solomons at one time. not only was this man a fight promoter but a out and out crook :oo he was involved with blinky palermo and frankie carbo and all the old mobsters like meyer lansky, bugsy siegel etc. but its the freddie mills murder and his sons theory of what really happened to freddie and according to him it was murder :shame: im not goin to spoil it for you but this book is a exellent read and has some great boxing photos in it,wrote by douglas thompson and contribution by huntmans son roger huntman makes it very compelling of dark side of boxing from a golden age....massive thumbs up for this book :TU: WELL RECCOMENDED !!!!

RE Shadowlands
I agree this shadowlands is a great read and seems to explain Mills s death much better than suicide . It seems this Benny Huntman was the closest thing to a British Lanski letting the Krays and Richardsons have all the notoriety while having much more power and influence .

Douglas Thompson, don't bother searching Amazon for "Shadowland" as you will get a load of lame erotic fiction.

It's been republished as Mafialand.
