Gethin v Crolla Off.
Gethin has sustained an ear injury. This PPV under card is looking shaky now unless they can pull summat out that hat.
Re: Gethin v Crolla Off.
Thats a massive loss to this undercard, I hope something can be done to make up for it though we are very late in the day.

Would like to see who they are being matched with. I thought swiftly has his licence pulled?DMA1987 wrote:McDonnell and Swifty Smith confirmed
Re: Gethin v Crolla Off.
Eddie confirmed them both on twitter in the last hour so I guess he is allowed to fight. Can't see them being matched against anyone decent at this stage. The Insider wrote:Would like to see who they are being matched with. Re: Gethin v Crolla Off.

Anthony Joshua vs Hector Alfredo Avila
Martin Murray vs TBA
Jamie McDonnell vs TBA
Anthony Crolla vs TBA
Stephen Smith vs TBA
Callum Smith vs TBA

What's the point of all of the name fighter vs TBA/journeyman fights? Awful PPV undercard.

Re: Gethin v Crolla Off.
Great card of was just Sky very poor PPV.. Groves v Froch isn't PPV on their own.. Will pay it but not too happy about it.
Re: Gethin v Crolla Off.
I'd go with that.Frankie Gavin wrote:.Horse wrote:Carl Froch vs George Groves

Re: Gethin v Crolla Off.
Yes totally agree, and remember the top of the bill is really a BRITISH SUPER MIDDLE title fight between the world's number 2 and somebody scraping in to the top ten - maybe.

Looks like 3 hours of very one sided contests. Nothing to even get inspired about. Laughable compared to US ppv cards. We aren't getting value.

'They' think we are because they don't cost the same as a US PPV, same night though Manny v Rios is on allegedly and that is a boutScottDetonator wrote:Looks like 3 hours of very one sided contests. Nothing to even get inspired about. Laughable compared to US ppv cards. We aren't getting value.
Re: Gethin v Crolla Off.
It was the most/only competitive fight on the bill
Re: Gethin v Crolla Off.
McDonnell still has to go before the board on Monday and they ruled that Smith's contract is still valid, so it may be a bit premature to confirm them. There only in 8 rounders anyway.DMA1987 wrote:Eddie confirmed them both on twitter in the last hour so I guess he is allowed to fight. There's a good/balanced write up in Boxing News - though I feel for the boxers who are not happy/active enough I do agree with Mr Warren who says something along the lines of, 'A Leyton Orient player can't just get up and say that they are now a Brentwood player'.

A Leyton Orient player gets paid every week.
Callum Smith is off the card also.

Didn't Paul Smith draw a salary (paid monthly) instead of paid by fight?
Re: Gethin v Crolla Off.
Right. But Paul Smith isn't leaving due to that is he - he is leaving because of the issues he has with FW regarding his brother.palooka wrote:DMA1987 wrote:

Re: Gethin v Crolla Off.
That means he can't legally leave then, because there's been no breach of contract.DMA1987 wrote:Right. But Paul Smith isn't leaving due to that is he - he is leaving because of the issues he has with FW regarding his brother.palooka wrote:DMA1987 wrote:

Re: Gethin v Crolla Off.
Didn't mention anything legally at all, especially about Paul Smith. I was pointing out to Palooka, and allegedly apparently, that being a boxer is different to being a footballer.expe wrote:That means he can't legally leave then, because there's been no breach of contract.DMA1987 wrote:

He ought to try and picket Warrens offices with a donkey jacket and a burning bin, he may get further; a judge won't let him walk out because he's miffed about how Warren treated his brother (or his nanDMA1987 wrote:Right. Re: Gethin v Crolla Off.
He seemed to still retain some aspirations after his last fight. Again I didn't say Paul had the right to leave, I was stating how his case was a little more unique and not the norm.palooka wrote:He ought to try and picket Warrens offices with a donkey jacket and a burning bin, he may get further; a judge won't let him walk out because he's miffed about how Warren treated his brother (or his nanDMA1987 wrote:
