Holyfield TKOs Shavers and decisions Lyle but both competitive fights. That said, although Evander had a chin of iron, if he gets into firefights with Earnie and Ron things might not go well for the Real Deal. But more likely Evander gets hurt a few times, recuperates, and then beats the crap out of a tiring Shavers and outboxes Lyle.

That's pretty what much what I figured, I think he'd beat Lyle pretty convincingly in a good slugfest...I could see his fight with Shavers being similar to his fight with Bert Cooper.

I think he beats both guys but he would no doubt
absorb more punches than he needed to by getting
caught in some heroic though ill advised exchanges.

How cool would it be to watch :)

In his prime, Holyfield had more grit and determination than appears imaginable.

He would take whatever Shavers and Lyle had to offer and eventually wear them both down.

Holy would certainly be rocked on a few occasions but with his pressure, he'd take out Shavers within 10 rounds.

Lyle would be more of a boxing match, so Holyfield goes the distance to take a unanimous decision.

If Shavers catches him as clean as Cooper did, he's not getting up. However, against a puncher of Shavers c calibre, is back him to be at his best, which he was not against Cooper.

Holyfield likely outpoints Lyle and stops Shavers late. However as has already been noted, he all too often had the habit of having too much heart for his own good and standing in there brawling/taking more punishment than he really needed to. Both fights would be wars and if Holyfield had one of his off nights (Cooper, Moorer I) both Lyle and Shavers would give him a long (or possibly short night in the case of Shavers).
