When he stopped lauri in 2002 I watched open mouthed. He was superb and hatton did not want an ounce of him. Watch witter v lauri on you tube.
Lauri had given Hatton a few problems and Witter smashed him to bits. rhino222 wasn't the only one sat open-mouthed. Hatton and Billy Graham were sat ringside and looked horrified.

The Hatton-Witter debate will go on for ever. One fighter offered to fight for free and his manager constantly tried to make the fight- the other didn't want to know. End of.
Lauri never caused Ricky any problems.

Hatton was a pure fighting machine the only way to beat him was to kock him out which in his hay day only the 2 top fighters of his generation did it. Anyone else think hatton would have quit on his stool??? Massive stain on his career against Alexander he just wasn't make from the same stuff as ricky.
It was the clash of styles that made it tho. Witter had huge power in his prime and Hatton wasn't exactly elusive. Anyone who thinks it's cut and dry at all because of the different levels of success of their careers is sorely mistaken. Any time between 2002 and 2008 Witter would have given Hatton a tough night.

I always remember when I think Witter got the mandatory spot with the WBC and Gatti was champ, and he ended up defending against Floyd in a voluntary defence. I will always believe that had Witter got that fight first he would have beaten Gatti very easily.
Agree with this but grew less certain as Junior's faded against NDou in second half. Hatton would have taken over.

Ok ok. I get it. Everybody hates Witter. But who the hell is Timo Schwarzkopf. And why the hell is he nearly a 4/1 fav?

Hatton would not have seen the 2nd half.

Ricky was a terrific boxer.

He had a spell where he thought he could grind everyone down after he beat Kostya and neglected it - but against Urango and previously against Oliveira he showed what he can do when the plan dictated it.

Red mist was Ricky's enemy, whereas Witter (as strong and awkward as he was at his best) often lacked the fire needed.

Witter could beat Hatton, but if they fought ten times I'd say 9/10 Ricky was all wrong, especially after Bradley fought him. I was row B for that and Tim really reminded me of Hatton's approach that night being a bad fit for junior in many ways.

Witter would have to fight southpaw and be aggressive to be victorious, no fiddling, no sword fencing or stamping his foot like a donkey.

My opinion is as valid as your opinion, you will do well to remember that. What is CS?

I am glad you least remember my posts, I can't recall any of your bar this.
CS= Current Scene - Where all the bullshitters and trolls reside

'Hatton wouldn't have the seen the second half', whether against Witter or N'Dou, that's bollocks, Hatton went into the 10th with Mayweather, N'Dou would have taken a beating on points and Witter would have been stopped late. He walked through everything Tszyu had to throw at him and came back with more, so to suggest Junior Witter, yes, Junior fornicating Witter, or Lovemore N'Dou would have taken him out in 6 rounds is complete and utter bollocks.

Floyd stopped him. Pac nearly killed him. Lazcano almost stopped him. Magee dropped him. Witter can also. And 'speak' to your elders with a civil tongue, kid.
He was badly weight drained against a drugged up Pacquaio who was on a different level to Witter, Lazcano didn't even have him on the floor, Magee dropped a Hatton that wasn't in his prime. Witter quit on his stool against Alexander, was dropped by Bradley. Oh, and fornicate off, elder.

I think some1 previous made a great point about junior going through the gears or not being able too.It would have been extremely dangerous for Hatton in the first half of the fight especially if Junior got him wobbling, terrific finisher in his prime Witter. Ricky would have to be at his most disciplined early on perhaps selecting quality(body work)over quantity and trying to give nothing away. If Ricky didnt give too many round away early he would catch up with Junior down the stretch to grind out a points win.As an aside and i say this as Sibbo's biggest fan, Herol would have absolutley murdered Tony in their respective primes :TU:
Herol Vs Sibson is an excellent comparison. Witter (Herol) beats Hatton ( Sibson) in my book.

Just watched Pac Vs Hatton.

As has been said, it was like Bruce Lee beating up Les Battersby.
Make sure you watch his fight v Mayweather where he performed well.

Groove Armada you are definitely starting to troll people, noticed it in a few threads, no need to descend into personal insults and I feel like you're just here for your own amusement (i.e. trying to start arguments) than to contribute anything particularly positive to the forum.
