I don't think he has any real contacts in the US, he had his first 5 fights there and never returned, that was 26 years ago and domestically he's always rubbed people up the wrong way, can't imagine he's too easy to work with, Barry Hearn's comments on his 'shopping list' for opponents being a prime example "No southpaws, no one undefeated and no one under 26 years of age"

Will Matchroom/FW be willing to do that? Even if they put him on shows they're not going to invest in somebody who's not tied down to them.

Because of his Dad he's well known, so he's good for TV, both have used fighters in the past that aren't signed with them. Hearn uses Coldwell fighters regularly and Warren seems happy to chuck anyone who will sell a few tickets on his shows. I don't think Hearn would really be a good move for him, the way he's going is probably the best way because of the freedom it allows him and to be honest, a combination of Hearn, Eubank Sr and Eubank Jr would be unbearable.

I can't think of any successful British boxer who has been more "independent" of the promoters than David Haye. He may have got into bed with them more than once, but generally on short term or one off deals.
