Possibly a double header, although Fury's with Hennessey and Macklin's with DiBella so there's a few obstacles to it and Paddy's Day is on a Monday next year which isn't ideal for boxing.

It would be on the Saturday before Paddy's day. I don't think it would be too hard to make because they both want to fight each other and Dublin or New York is the best place for the fight.

I don't think Fury will be on the card. Hennessey is not going to give Fury away that easily against a fighter who could potentially knock Fury out.

Lets not forget something either. Pro-Am cards are allowed in Ireland.

Could have the makings of a good card this, I don't think Hennessey would have a problem with Fury fighting Perez, just not on a Matchroom show.

Show could go something like this
Macklin-Lee
Bring Jamie Kavanagh back from America
Katie Taylor
Steve Collins Jr
Philip Sutcliffe Jr
Dean Byrne
Patrick Hyland
If Eddie and Paul Hyland are still fighting stick them on
Gary O'Sullivan
Anthony Fitzgerald
Luke Keeler
Stick a few more amateurs on and pack out the O2.

I hope it just isn't all Irish fighters. I would like to see Luke Campbell and a few of the other Matchroom prospects on the card.

I'd rather they stayed here, hate all the hype surrounding them, better to use the show to showcase the Irish fighters who don't always get the chance to fight on shows like this. Thinking about it now, Collins Jr is with Warren, so he wouldn't be on it. Some fighters could come over, maybe Callum Smith and Kal Yafai.

Irish Canadian! ;)

Anyway, the fights the Irish public want to see are -

Phil Sutcliffe Jnr vs Paddy Gallagher

Block Reynolds vs Conal Carmichael

Brendan Fizpatrick vs Anthony Fitzgerald

Eamonn O'Kane vs Gary O'Sullivan

John Hutchinson vs Michael McLaughlin Owen

Jamie Kavanagh vs Marco McCullough

Patrick Hyland vs Martin Lindsay

Eddie Nesbitt vs Dan McShane

I could go on but, people want to see matches not one well known boxer versus a knock over!

Got to sell for TV though. Reynolds is about 40 and Carmichael's unknown. There's no point in putting 5-0 vs 3-0, waste of time for both fighters when they could be being moved properly, especially when they have ambitions of fighting at the top. Fitzpatrick's beaten journeymen and was wiped out in a round against Ciaran Healy. McLaughlin's had serious trouble against journeymen, Kavanagh's a lightweight and Nesbitt's a journeyman. There's no point in putting Belfast fighters on in Dublin when there's no shortage of Dublin fighters available and they can be matched well against opponents that are brought in, rather than all Irish fights.

Patrick Hyland -V- Martin Lindsay would be a cracker of a fight. That would be a great addition to the card.

I'm talking about the undercard. Lee vs Macklin and some other high level fights with Matchroom stock would fill slots higher on the bill.

I agree with some of them being more suited to Belfast (McShane v Nesbitt especially) but they are all good exciting fights that would be worthy of the undercard.

Why bring in completely unknown boxers that no one is interested in? Also it would be more expensive for a promoter.

I agree its too early for Succo v Paddy Gal, but its the fight people want to see. For now Succo vs Michael Kelly or even Sweet Pea could be made now.

Reynolds vs Carmichael or Tims would sell loads of tickets and could be made for an Irish title.

Fitzpatrick has been beaten, so has Fitzgerald, so what. It sells and would be a good fight.

I'd prefer to see Kavanagh and McCullough fight even if there is a couple of pound in the difference, but for an all Dublin clash you could have Kavanagh vs Oisin Fagan.

Luke Keeler vs Dennis Hogan is another goodun! Lindsay vs Hyland would be a belter as well. You would need more than just a Dublin crowd to fill the 02 mate.

Dunne / Cordoba filled the 02 and that card was unreal. Dunne / Poonswat only half filled the 02 and the card was mediocre. So a good card is needed to fill the 02.

Bullshit, I was there for the two fights and Dunne - Poonsawat was a sell out or very close as I could not see any empty seats,.

By Dunne's own admission in his book, the Poonsawat fight wasn't a sell out, with a week to go about 6,000 had been sold. Peters fvcked up with the first defence anyway, shouldn't have been in with someone like Poonsawat straight after Cordoba. Made even more shocking by the fact he sent the matchmaker with two purse bids, a big one to guarantee the fight would be in Dublin and a small one for the lowest amount possible in case no one else turned up, which is what happened. Why they didn't just not bid and leave it, forcing the WBA to make a decision on the fight, allowing them to ask for a voluntary in the meantime I don't know.

Dunne was massively overly critical of Peters in his book. Dunne wouldn't have been DUNNE without Peters and the Celtic Tiger.

He was also ripped off financially at times and there's no doubt he fvcked up with Poonsawat.

He might have felt he was ripped off, that's different to being actually ripped off. He was the highest paid SBW in the world at the time.

Massively ungrateful if you ask me.

100,000 euros for a sell out at the Point Depot is being ripped off to me, especially when the undercard isn't upto much.

The EBU deserve some blame with Dunne. Why they put Kiko as mandatory for Munroe for Dunne was annoying. Dunne / Munroe was a huge fight and the only way it could have been made was the EBU making Dunne the mandatory & calling the mandatory. It would have got a very good crowd in the 02 aswell.
