8/11 still isn't terrible but I just don't fancy it. Id much rather chance 50 quid of my cash to make 200 on groves @ 4s than risk all that money on Froch. As said Froch is favorite for a reason and I agree but it's closer than the bookies have it for me. I took my odds with skybet who have now shortened to 3/1 on groves so there is definitely some shifts in the market. I won't be chancing much on it but have no problem backing odds on favorites to the hilt as I did with Coyle the other week where I admittedly bet a bit more than I should.Riddick Blowe wrote:The 10/11 that was available on Froch stoppage with Ladbrokes was great value IMO.The Insider wrote:I've already had a tiny bit on Groves @ 4/1 and will have a fun bet on the Groves stoppage @10/1 just to make watching it more interesting. Can't see any value in betting anything on Froch as the odds are so short. As mentioned in other threads, if your life depended on it Froch, with the value, Groves.
It has moved to 8/11 now across the board, but I would probably price it at 4/7.

Fair do's, I've had it in accumulators though so the payout will be big!The Insider wrote:8/11 still isn't terrible but I just don't fancy it. 9/5 with laddies. I'm not sure about the Pac fight though, I can't decide if Rios will see it out...geoffburt07 wrote:Froch and PACman to win by stoppage is paying 7/4. Not a huge price but itl do me.
Re: Betting thread
Im just deciding if i should go for:
Froch rounds 1-6
Quigg rounds 1-12 any method
Hernandez to win
Pac rounds 8-12 or on pts
£10 at 11.15/1 on the accumulator 4 fold
Then 4 x £5 on the treble.
Total returns £260.77
Or i could go for the lucky 15 at 15 x £2 (£30) max returns £142.40
ANY THOUGHTS?????????? before i place it.

Anyone else see value in Dib at 3's against someone he lost to only by sd?
Re: Betting thread
You are obviously a very astute and experienced gambler, would you please explain that for a mere mortal (me), thankscutsman wrote:Anyone else see value in Dib at 3's against someone he lost to only by sd?

Dib v Gradovich happened back in march. Dib lost by split decision. 112-114. 114-112, 112-114. They have both had 1 fight since and both won by decision.
Billy Dib is 3-1 odds to win in rematch. Which I think is generous.

Re: Betting thread
Also To put it in perspective. Say for instance that froch and groves had fought back in March and Groves lost by split decision. Do you think he would be still be priced at 3/1 for the rematch?

It does seem generous. But how close really was the fight taking away the scorecards?cutsman wrote:Certainly sir.palooka wrote:You are obviously a very astute and experienced gambler, would you please explain that for a mere mortal (me), thankscutsman wrote:Anyone else see value in Dib at 3's against someone he lost to only by sd?

Re: Betting thread
Doesn't the price reflect the amount of money placed on a boxer and not the likelyhood of the boxer winning?
Re: Betting thread
Sky Vegas are giving a £2 free bet on Cops and robbers just to let you all know I won 40p haha, so I whacked it on this:
Quigg rounds 1-4
Groves points
Pacquiao 8-12 or points
Barker
Trout
Alexander
Rigondeaux
Returns £69.45

Its a bit of both they try to offset the money placed on certain fighters and outcomes by fiddling with the odds.palooka wrote:Doesn't the price reflect the amount of money placed on a boxer and not the likelyhood of the boxer winning?

Re: Betting thread
Is anyone thinking about taking Rios for the win? 6-1 stoppage.
Everyone goes on about him being made for Pacquiao but it swings both ways surely?
Has Rios ever been down or really hurt in a fight? Maybe the Marquez fight has finished Pacman and he's there for the taking. I may have a few quid on Rios stoppage.

Re: Betting thread
No Stevenson/Bellew method of victory/group round/round odds yet ANYWHERE. LOL.
The bookies are doing that thing they do when they're scared and they need some help from their friends on Boxrec before the game of chicken starts. Well, noone should give them any. Unless they're wrong of course.
Hey bookies, I dare you to open the market on this one.

Bellew 100/1 early rounds. too big for me, threw a fiver at each of the first six rounds, if he catches Stevenson clean he goes for me.
Prices up with Bwin & Skybet if anyone fancies anything
