Worst nickname ever...

I'm voting on Mac Schmeling's nickname.. The Black Uhlan of the Rhine... Max Baer's "Livermore Larruper" doesn't have much of a ring to it, either.

The first one off the top of my head is a nickname that heavyweight Jim Jones picked out for himself.

Right after the mass murder-suicide in Guyana in which the rev. Jim Jones forced his followers to drink cyanide laced Kool-aid, this guy decides to name himself:

Jim (Kool-aid) Jones

Jerry "Wimpy" Halstead
hahaha, that was a funny ass nick name, I think is the funniest, although doesn't show much of a challenge when it comes to fight. :)

Bruce "The Mouse" Strauss was not particularly threatening. Then again, his claim to fame was that he had been knocked out on every continent.

Willie "The Worm" Monroe should be at least in the top ten here. Galento was known mostly as "Two Ton Tony" which isn't bad, but he was also called "The Human Barrel Keg",which, now that I think about it, is kind of appealing in away. "Phainting Phil Scott" was more of a description, as he was known for going down from any blow lower than his collar bone and claiming foul.

Fidel Castro Smith boxed under the name Slugger O'Toole in an attempt to gain support from the Irish community. For those who have never seen him, Fidel is black.

Also have to mention Elvis Parsley, haven't found his real name yet.

His name was Max not Mac. But you are right, "Die Schwarze Ulanenregiment des Rheins" sounds better in German . . .

The irony is that he is one of only a few fighters who actually was in desperate need of at least one, during one of his bouts. I suppose that leaves five left.

Maybe that's what Duran needed in the Ray II bout. lol.

This takes the cake for me...the fact that he was trying to market himself as "He loved children" made it even worse. It might be a shame as I'm sure some people mean it with the best of intentions, but for the most part when a grown man says "I Love children" and "My Nickname is for the children" and sh*t...it just comes across as very pedophile like these days.

Not to suggest that this was the case with Lance Whitaker...it's just that's the way it seems. Normal guys don't market themselves towards children...because it's f*cking weird OK.
