Gorbals 7th december

Post by geoffburt07 »

Anyone know the full bill?
I know it's

Jon Slowey v Kris Hughes (Scottish featherweight title)
Stephen Simmons v Harri Miles.
Think Micheal Roberts boxing for masters. Does anyone know all the home fighters and opponents.

Apparently Burns might be having an excibition against Simpson on the card as well.

Disappointed with Simmons opponent. Hes already beat miles and miles has lost 5 of his last 8 fights since then. I would have though after his win against Graf eh would have been pushed on. I suppose when he has a promotor like Morrison hes not exactly going to be fighting anyone decent. Sooner Simmons gets away from Morrison and moves to Hearn the better, if Hearn wants him.

He's practically with Hearn anyway because he promotes Burns. Morrison provides most of the undercard for Burns, with Simmons being top of that list right now, so as long as Hearn has Burns, there's no need to sign him and Morrison's his manager, so he'll have a say in opponents whatever happens. This is just a keep busy fight with Ricky being back out on the 8th February, so there's no need for it to be more than 10 rounds and probably 8.

Ha ronnie clark boxed on a gorbals show and there was talk before that show that Scott Harrison was going to be doing a demonstration with Paul Appleby, I wouldnt believe it. Although I think that it looks a good show without the demo, keep it simple for price of tickets to go see Brophy, Simmons, Roberts Jnr and a couple others proberly is worth it id say:)

To be fair Ricky Burns is a lot more reliable than Scott Harrison.

In my opinion i wouldnt buy a ticket to see anyone do a demo, they should buy a ticket to see the real fights with slowey in a tough fight and hopefully roberts jnr stepping up and fighting a decent fighter for the masters.

Nice added extra to have though, even if it is just a sparring session.

Bill cut from 8 fights and 2 title fights down to 5 fights and 1 title fight. Micheal Roberts and Micheal Jameson and Simmons not in bill anymore. Roberts withdrew weeks ago but Jameson couldn't get opponent. Apart from the title fights it should be all wins for home boys

Totally unrelated to this thread but the thread title caught my attention. My stepnan died yesterday and she was born in the Gorbals. RIP.
