Froch & Eddie are so disrespectful to Groves
What did groves say?
Sorry genuine question to those who might have seen more of the build up than me....but what did groves say or do that was so disrespectful to Froch in the build up. All the videos I have seen is Froch telling people how disrespectful groves is/was...and then be disrespectful in return....slagging off fighters like Glenn Johnson (oops) as domestic class.
All this while George is sitting there saying nothing.
Was it that youtube video George made that really wound up froch?

Re: What did groves say?
I think it was because Groves was disappointed Bute lost his fight to Froch. There's a thread somewhere. Pathetic really.
Re: What did groves say?
He said after the fight that Froch had said to him after the fight had ended it was because he hadn't spoken about him in enough of a positive light. Just shows how pathetic Froch is.
Re: What did groves say?
Watch the ringside of them both and make your own mind up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXQGZF5PWf8
Re: What did groves say?
He said nothing disrespectful but he didn't promote Froch' greatness, he said that Froch had lost before and struggled with other fighters, he said that there were weaknesses in Froch style and he would capitalise.

Re: What did groves say?
I used to get embarressed by Froch,s pursuit of Calzaghe a few year back,he couldnt shut up about him i seem to remember him phoning Joe in front of the camera as well
GG has barely said a word about Carl, probably only when asked about him, seeing as Carl,s no1 at the same weight and Groves was a contender with aspirations,so of course he had an opinion on him and felt he could beat him, whether he genuinly believed it or otherwise,he,s still gonna claim he can
Ive got massive respect for Carl as a boxer and he,s no Fred West but he can act a tad egotistical to say the least

Froch & Eddie are so disrespectful to Groves
The whole build up Froch has made out Groves to be really arrogant and disrespectful which he has not all. Eddie was clearly on team Froch's side it was embarrassing to watch before and after the fight. He showed no appreciation to his client Groves throughout.
In his post fight interview yesterday evening Froch came out with the most delusional comments about how Groves was unconscious and he was schooling him in the final rounds. The guy is a joke.
Eddie needs to treat his clients on equal grounds.
If Froch doesn't take the rematch I really hope he loses all credibility with his fans and Groves leaves Matchroom.
I actually believe Groves would be better off under Warren.

Dunno how you rope Eddie into this he said George Groves was sensational and reminded Froch that he was dropped in the 1st

It can only be George or Ward. Nobody cares about Kessler 3 or anyone else for that matter.
Re: Froch & Eddie are so disrespectful to Groves
I dont think anybody really cares about a Ward rematch.mickey1975 wrote:It can only be George or Ward. Nobody cares about Kessler 3 or anyone else for that matter.

The whole pre fight build up he was so team Froch is was cringe worthy.

That's because we all know that Carl hasnt got a hope in hell!DMA1987 wrote:I dont think anybody really cares about a Ward rematch.mickey1975 wrote:It can only be George or Ward. Nobody cares about Kessler 3 or anyone else for that matter.

Well yeah, I definitely don't see how his fight against Groves has convinced people Froch beats Ward.columbo wrote:That's because we all know that Carl hasnt got a hope in hell!DMA1987 wrote:I dont think anybody really cares about a Ward rematch.mickey1975 wrote:It can only be George or Ward. He needed to dominate Groves in order to make it believable, now there isn't a hope really. Which is what Eddie said to him after the fight, which is why he changed his mind on the rematch overnight.

I didnt think he had a chance even if he did! Ward showed that he well and truely had carl's number in that first encounter.
Re: Froch & Eddie are so disrespectful to Groves
You are forgetting though its all about what you can make people believe. If Froch hammered Groves then Matchroom could have sold the fight, they have no chance as things stand now.columbo wrote:

i thought Hearns was very reasonable indeed on 5live in the immediate aftermath, and i am far from Eddie's biggest fan

I think he is most of the time to be honest. And I am probably his biggest fan.Counter-puncher wrote:i thought Hearns was very reasonable indeed on 5live in the immediate aftermath, and i am far from Eddie's biggest fan

Re: Froch & Eddie are so disrespectful to Groves
It's got to be a huge showdown with Groves and then, if he wins, retirement. I don't think his ego could handle going out on a loss. The guy makes David Haye look modest,

Same result and not an exciting fight
Re: Froch & Eddie are so disrespectful to Groves
I think Froch should have shown more respect
Groves basically promised what he would do in first few rounds and followed it to the letter - Froch laughed this off before the fight and in my eyes has now looked a bit stupid for doing so

Re: Froch & Eddie are so disrespectful to Groves
no more disrespectful than certain fans are to froch in light of Saturday. the way some people are reacting u'd think he stopped the fight himself. I've barely read a single comment commending his bravery and will to win.
There are "fans" on sky sports saying he's a coward & will bottle the rematch. I mean, has the man not given us enough?
I know he acted a bit of a nob but u cant dismiss the nights he's given us. He's gone from hero to public enemy no.1 it seems, boxing fans are so fickle. I remember loads of people rating howard foster before sat as well, saying he's the best in the country etc.... best man for the job.... I'm pretty sure it was on here.

I don't think he would have been so accepting of a similar stoppage if it had happened to Froch in America, for example.Counter-puncher wrote:i thought Hearns was very reasonable indeed on 5live in the immediate aftermath, and i am far from Eddie's biggest fan

maybe not but i thought he was (quite impressively) balanced given it was the immediate aftermath of a contoversial finishKing Tubby wrote:I don't think he would have been so accepting of a similar stoppage if it had happened to Froch in America, for example.Counter-puncher wrote:i thought Hearns was very reasonable indeed on 5live in the immediate aftermath, and i am far from Eddie's biggest fan

Easy to gauge the public opinion there, but I agree, he played it well.

Completely agree. Cracking comment. The stoppage was a bit quick but Froch didn't ask the ref to do it. I fully believe that Froch would've finished the job before the end of the 10th anyway.stevieb_8006 wrote:no more disrespectful than certain fans are to froch in light of Saturday. the way some people are reacting u'd think he stopped the fight himself. On the topic of Hearns siding with Froch in the build-up, why is anyone surprised that a businessman was sticking by one of his most bankable assets?
