Watt is always blinded by what happens in Round 1.

Whoever starts best is firmly the man Watt is behind. He's done it too many times too recall. This Saturday past was no different. He was painfully pro Groves. That's not a slate against Groves; its a pop at Watt.

Watt needs to be removed from the commentary box.

It wasn't even after round one, it was after three seconds of round one!

Yeh, I should've said seconds. I was a bit off time wise!

Groves was the victim of a poor referee on the night. He had dominated most the fight IMO, smashed Froch to the canvas, and looked well on his way to winning until Foster's blunder.

Watt and Halling were reacting to seeing a big upset unfold. Full marks to Glen McCrory for being real about the stoppage which was farcical.
That's not strictly true. They set the tone *very pro groves* from the opening bell in the first round before anything had even happened. At times, I thought Watt and Halling were going to simultaneously blow a nut!
But George Groves did look sensational at times. If they'd focused on how slow and lumbering Froch seemed people would be just as upset. Groves looked magnificent for 7 rounds why wouldn't the commentary reflect that?

Groves was very good for 6 rounds or so but Watt was completely ignoring anything that was coming back. Anyone would think Froch didn't land a punch until the stoppage which is far from the case.

No im not saying they should of tried to make out that Froch was winning the fight by any means but if you watch that fight without the commentary in the background, you see little counters that Froch was landing aswell which they never even acknowledged.

Don't like Halling at all, but thought they seemed ok on the night ( not that I was listening too closely ) but if they were seeing George Groves come alive as a world class talent, and definitely controlling the fight until rounds 8-9, then they weren't wrong.

Plus they must have been in shock, as only a few thought Groves had the beating of Carl Froch - the pre fight poll in Box Monthly was 100% Froch.

I actually thought saturday was one of their better nights.

Could be worse, could end up with Bob Sheridan.

Exactamundo.

I watched it in the arena first and then commentary later and was really shocked by the one-sided nature of the commentary. Just shows how what the commentators say can really guide an audience into seeing something with a one-sided viewpoint - if that is what is presented to the viewers.

Groves did great, but Froch was in there pitching throughout and landing, look at Groves' face at the end for evidence of that. Yet from the commentary you'd have thought Froch barely landed at all and then got lucky with a late flurry.

The stoppage was still premature, not arguing that at all, but that commentary is a joke, just like some of the reactions on here and Facebook.

No one is saying Froch didn't land.. Just no where near as much as Groves. Groves marks up easy. There was a couple of head clashes a elbow and a bit of roughing up. End of the day first 8 rounds Groves was largely on top. I didn't have him losing a round. The 5th was close. If your a honest Froch fan you would agree that in the first he was gone.. Could of been stopped and in the 6th as well he took about 15 clean right hands flush on his chin. Great chin, Great heart but very dangerous. How many times did Froch hit on the break?? That's where most of his success came.. A stronger ref would of had points of and possibly disqualified Froch. I agree about the commentators I hate them but Groves shocked everyone he was amazing
