moderators, it is about time to make a decision on the duce.

Post by man »

i do not want to start threads and see il duce initiating
his ali rant in there. either you do something about it
or i do not start threads anymore.

i do not cross his threads since i do not have any more
interest in them. but when i start some by myself i do
not want to be bothered honestly speaking. this forum
is my easy-minutes of the day and i have no interest in
wasting time or finger tissue.

so either you do something or i do.

Well said....easy to say ignore but 'it' turns up everywhere and everytime it's a lead in to an Ali dig...the general idea is to devalue every fighter Ali fought at about the time Ali fought him....someone mentioned before....an Ali section for Duck to rant on..a clear separation...
Man has been a member for 6 years so his views are nothing to sneeze at...

I'd like to see the back of both Duce and ThatOne, they both ruin a lot of threads.

They are the Alpha and Omega of annoying internet bawbags.

Hate to disappoint you, dawg, but I don't swing like that.

BTW, I haven't posted in a week... Find another guy to obsess over and if you're going to obsess over me please keep your hands outside your pants and covers.

i accept that moderators are busy and don't
respond quickly. i for myself will stop posting
in this section of the forum unless someone
communicates to mister duce to leave my
threads alone with his cassius clay rant ...
until friday this week.

There is nothing to respond to, threads like this are nothing new. When he was being largely ignored there was no problem. He doesn't bother me any, but you can't ban him without banning ThatOne.

Ban me for what?

BoxBuzz, a moderator, makes threads about Il Duce and does more to bump his threads than I ever did.

I haven't even posted in a week. I posted today because I was specifically mentioned; twice . Yet I see Il Duce is still the topic du jour.

I am laughing my ass off how Il Duce has this Svengali like vise on this board and has so many posters panties in a knot.

I don't think either of you should be banned, but you're one in the same to me. It's certainly absurd to call for his head and not yours.

Perhaps it's because I don't have one thread on the front page and he has several or when it was brought to my attention the back and forth between me and Duce in other people's thread was bothering people I stopped.

But I'm not going to be a hypocrite and throw him under the bus. Duce likes his shtick. I don't see why all these posters who want his head on a platter just don't put him on ignore.

His threads don't bother me at all. Before he and Vladimir started cranking out threads that some find so brutally taxing on this forum, we were lucky to fill up a page of new threads in a month.

The moderators are well educated men, and know when someone crosses the line.

At this time of the season "Thanksgiving", we should all be thankful for this site.

Happy Thanksgiving, Il Duce.

When I was kid my best friend was Italian. They had turkey like everybody else but they supplemented it with traditional Italian fare.

Exactly my sentiment.

If you don't want to read certain posters, just ignore them.

I think he has not done anything to warrant a ban.

He is here to discuss boxing and boxers...albeit one in
particular.

If you don't like what he or any one for that matter,
has to say then simply don't read.

The cries for his dismissal over false information are the most ridiculous. I can only assume none of those posters spend any time in CS. Should people be banned for thinking Wlad & Vitali have shitty or great resumes? We're split on that. This isn't a court of law, he's entitled to hate Ali if he wants too. And at this point, some of the stuff he gets accosted for isn't beyond valid. When I say Witherspoon tossed it in against Smith, is equating that to Liston/Ali 2 off base? Agree or disagree, I think if another poster made that correlation nobody would be in an uproar.

Saad, as usual, is the voice of reason here.

I think Duce is disputing the accepted version of boxing history and this makes more rank and file "what's written or generally believed to be true must be true" posters see red and react sometimes cartoonishly. On the other hand, Duce, while I count him as a friend and valued resource, has occasionally steered some threads created by others into the cold, hard ground.

I generally believe he's probably more right about Ali than not when he asserts that his career was "handled", but I think most of what we assume was purely legit in boxing history is probably more orchestrated than any of us would like to admit.

Ask Il Duce to keep his evangelizing about Ali to his own threads, which he largely does anyways, and everyone else needs to either develop thicker skin or admit that his assertions are so threatening because they are afraid deep down he may be spot on.

i'm not calling for heads, i am asking that somebody
tells him not to hijack threads others started. and the
ignore list doesn't help, since you see the replies others
give to his posts and in threads i start i read the stuff
people say.

but it seems most guys here are totally okay with his
behavior. fine with me. this is a community and it makes
its own rules. but this is my spare time and i do not need
this BS. since it takes time to react and make decisions i
gave moderators time until friday. i do not expect being
informed about anything, but if it afterwards happens
again on any thread i start, that il duce hijacks it with his
ali rant than i will not start any more threads in this section.
won't be too much of a loss anyways.

i didn't ask for anyone being banned. i never
did, i never will. i don't care what people do
and talk about within their threads, but i do
not accept that discussion i start are hijacked.
having him on ignore only partially helps since
you see the replies of others.

this is exactly what i want moderators to do.
i for one do not accept that someone steers
a conversation i start into the ground. period.
if the policy of the board is to allow for that,
i don't start conversations. end of story. no
big deal.
