Froch was right anyway, no matter what happens when he lands on georges tin chin its game over, how come every foul george done froch got the blame for?punchin froch on the back of the head, hittin him with 3 clean shots after the bell in round one, consistantly holding every time froch launched an attack but who got consistantly warned? Froch thats who. Groves was mandatory, froch kept his end of the deal and gave him a shot at the belt, the result no matter how you look at it is a froch tko,he doesnt have to give him a rematch, would any of you give him a rematch if you were froch? I wouldnt its too risky, anyone with speed agility and punch power is a tough fight for froch. Froch has done it all,if i was him id fight degale and retire,he has nothin else to prove. As a fight fan id like to see the rematch but if i was froch id stay away from it.

I don't see why Carl would give George a rematch.

Yes, Groves did well in his first world title fight but Froch now has the win over him. He brings nothing else to the table other than a money generating grudge match, going over the same ground that we have all ready been over with the Ringside interviews etc.

Carl, only has a few fights left before he hangs up the gloves. Surely, he has to be using the next year or so, fighting at the top level against fighters that bring something to the table. Hopkins is the obvious choice, or Ward, or why not Stieglitz/Bika in a unification bout? All these fights could quite easily be served up as PPV events, as I'm sure, Froch's next fight will be PPV regardless of opponent.

Froch has beaten Groves once, I'd back heavily that he would repeat the performance in any rematch.

Of course it does, Carl had his pride piqued and wont let it go, I'm sure. The fight ironed out zero differences between them and it makes him the most money to ride out into the sunset with. There is nothing else out there for him. Ward would run rings around him on last weekends form.

I actually think Carl could do better in a rematch. In the build up to the fight he didnt seem to believe George was at that level. You have to wonder if he was fully switched on for the fight. I still think George would cause problems but there's a part of me that thinks that it wouldnt be so one sided in George's favour this time.

I just think he'd aged quite obviously, and George is likely to improve more than Froch at this stage of their careers. IF Froch honestly see's little controversy, how does he get back up for this?

This stinks tbh. The dismissive, arrogant, crybaby attitude from Froch isn't exactly new though, he's always been like that as far as I recall but you had to let that slide in recent years as he has fought everybody who's anybody at SMW. However, using the fan backlash as an excuse (and let's not beat around the bush that's exactly what it is) not to rematch Groves absolutely sucks.

Is there a bigger money fight out out there than this? Sell out a stadium and you don't even have to leave Britain. No way Ward is coming over here to fight after the way the judges scoring has been going on Matchroom cards recently.

As for the 'fickle' fans, you need them onside as they're the fuckers that sell out massive venues. Why shouldn't they cheer Groves after he performed better than most were expecting? Brits love an underdog and also hate arrogance, hence the booing for Froch.

If he doesn't fight Groves again, rightly or wrongly his career will have an asterisk in the eyes of the British public.

Let groves fight degale and Froch can take the winner.

Groves had his chance and dropped the ball. I'd love to see a rematch, but Froch does not owe Groves anything.

This is how Froch will be remembered to a large majority if he chooses to go in another direction or retire.

GOmez spins it however he sees fit depending on the situation Carl is in. The contradictions regarding fame, tv channels etc have exceeded even Froch's!

Why does he owe the British public anything?

He turned up, took a shallacking, toughed it out and got the win. He didn't stop the fight, the ref did.

He owes nobody anything if you ask me. What he did in that ring was of the gutsiest performances I have ever seen.

Groves is now asking for the lion's share of the purse in a rematch.

"It's all very well Groves saying he wants a rematch at any time but at what price? He also says he feels he deserves the lion's share of the purse but that ain't going to happen. Everyone has to be realistic and if they are, it can be done."

Hearn warned that if Groves priced himself out of the market, Froch could go elsewhere. "I've seen George saying that Carl only has one option: fight him or retire but I totally disagree with that," he said.

"HBO would love Carl to fight Andre Ward, Gennady Golokvin or Julio César Chávez Jr. They are all big fights on the world stage. And while Froch v Groves II is massive in British terms it is not globally."

Yes the public that lined his pocket and were robbed of a great fight regardless of whether froch wasnt the ref...after all isnt froch a warrior he even said he doesnt wasnt a blot on his record... i dont understand that people are so adamant groves was out on his feet.... the only fact is that froch was out on his feet in the firtst round and was buzzed from staet to finish...

Froch doesn't owe the public anything. He didnt cheat us, he did his job and put his body on the line.

There will be a rematch because it makes too much financial sense, not because he owes anybody.

It's fair play on frochs part, funny reading that story it's like my previous posts!
I think froch hits the nail on the head on the fact groves ain't a 12 rd fighter yet.had a young fighter took the punishment froch did we would be saying he ain't never going to be the same & for froch to come through at this stage is pretty remarkable & hold on to his title, he showed George what it takes & it was a valuable lesson learnt without heavy repercussions on George's part.

The only statement jim watt said that made sense was in the sixth rd he said to the audience there is no tactics or technical aspects now it's whatever the fighters can dredge up!!

There is a blue print to best froch, but boy do you have to lay it all down to get it!!
Froch is a slow starter & George done everything right but couldn't change he's pattern & adapt

Froch has given more to the British public than most fighters. He doesn't owe us anything. The fight was a classic, both fighters took their lumps(facial damage afterwards) and both put on a good display of themselves.

Nothing could be further than the truth. In boxing we know that one fight can change the current standing of a fighter but overall, a fighters career will be remembered as a whole, especially a fighter such as Carl that has been on the World stage for quite some time. Froch could very well go on to give JCC Jnr a right pasting, look fantastic and he will be heralded again. Swings and roundabouts. Right now, Carl is the 2nd best SMW in the World and that is a fact.

Once again I am staggered by some of the rubbish on here.

Listen, Groves was superb, the fight was stopped too early, those are undeniable facts.

But where is the respect for Froch?? He came through a crisis and found a way to win, he deserves the total respect for anyone on here and for him 'owing' anybody anything, feck me give your head a shake.

This is a fighter who has given us massive entertainment and so much more.

I want to see a rematch, I think Groves deserves one but if Froch chooses not to go down that road then fair play. I think George would be best advised to tone it down a bit if he wants the fight again.

I like Groves, and I'll never underestimate him again but Froch won the fight, never forget that fact.

Agree, the mind boggles.

I can only assume the majority of Froch's detractors are armchair fans or those unfamiliar with Froch's career.

There is no reason to blame Froch for anything. Some of his comments were out of line but ffs let's judge him on his performance in the ring.

Ward won't come to the UK, he knows he is the best in the division and will not be dictated to by team Froch - he said as much in an interview a few months ago.
if i was ward i wouldn't fight over here ...it's becoming you need a ko to get a draw
