QUICKEST KOs EVER
I don't mean some fight from 1904 which you can't enjoy on tape, preferably fights that were recorded.
Quickest I think are:
Russell Rees v Des Sowden
Peter McNeeley - Frankie Hines
Jeremy Williams - Arthur Weathers
Al Couture - Ralph Walton - IS THIS AVAILABLE ON TAPE ANYONE KNOW
Angel Torres - Gabriel Krizan
James Thunder - Crawford Grimsley
Jack Dempsey - Carl Morris
Miguel Alvarez v Dave Carter
Terry Dunstan - Alexander Gurov
Jesus Gonzalez - Joshua Peters
Shannon Briggs - John Sargent
Daniel Jimenez - Harald Geier
Courage Tshabalala - Stanley Hughey
Nicky Piper v. John Ellis
Besides these which are the fastest KOs ever recorded? And again list where you can see them if possible thakn you.

Re: QUICKEST KOs EVER
I think Freddie Pendleton dismantled Sammy Fuentes in record time. Haven't seen that one on the list yet.
Re: QUICKEST KOs EVER
Lockridge/Mayweather was pretty quick.
Cooney/Norton, also.
Green/Codrington was sub 20 seconds?
Haye also chinned Gurov in double quick time.
I can never think beyond Tua/Ruiz and Thunder/Grimsley. Tua/Moorer was also pretty quick.
Quick Google says the two quickest might be:
1.Phil Williams vs Brandon Burke in 10 sec-July 6 2007
2.Jeremy Williams vs Arthur Weathers in 10 seconds-March 19, 1996

Re: QUICKEST KOs EVER
Eubank/Reginaldo Dos Santos was sub 20 seconds I think. Camera doesn't even have time to zoom in before the shot lands.
Re: QUICKEST KOs EVER
Is that the one where Eubank is standing right at the forefront of the camera view...??orbtastic wrote:Eubank/Reginaldo Dos Santos was sub 20 seconds I think. Camera doesn't even have time to zoom in before the shot lands.
Re: QUICKEST KOs EVER
Yeah. The camera zooms in and is still zooming in as the fight ends but they show it from another angle after. Eubank stands there posturing to camera, tapping his gloves together. Classic!evrenb wrote:Is that the one where Eubank is standing right at the forefront of the camera view...??orbtastic wrote:Eubank/Reginaldo Dos Santos was sub 20 seconds I think. Re: QUICKEST KOs EVER
That was Eubank in a microcosm...classic arrogance. . . but when it came down to it he was tough as nails!orbtastic wrote:Yeah. Re: QUICKEST KOs EVER
On November 9, 1967, we watched from the balcony of the Philadelphia Arena, as hot Philly prospect Al Massey, rushed from his corner and poleaxed "Golden Boy" Mike Cortez, from New York, with a terrific left hook. Cortez was counted out in eleven (11) seconds of the first round on the undercard of the George Benton - Hilton Whitaker and Joe Shaw - C.L. Lewis co-featured headline fights.
Re: QUICKEST KOs EVER
How jealous am I that you were going to live matches in Philadelphia in the 1960's. Amazing! Any others you can recollect..did you ever see a young Frazier or Hagler?pbchron wrote:On November 9, 1967, we watched from the balcony of the Philadelphia Arena, as hot Philly prospect Al Massey, rushed from his corner and poleaxed "Golden Boy" Mike Cortez, from New York, with a terrific left hook. Re: QUICKEST KOs EVER
Evren, I did get to see all of Hagler's Philly fights in person. I also attended Joe Frazier's first 5 fights, and the Doug Jones fight (by the way boxrec is incorrect listing the Turnbow bout at Convention Hall. It was held at THE PHILA.AC. at the Hotel Philadelphia).
I started going to the fights regularly in Philly in 1960 and saw hundreds of shows there over the years except for '68 and '69. My friends and I witnessed Philly's best and also enjoyed their legions of hardened club fighters that filled almost every card with exciting action. I was eye witness to watching my idol Joey Giardello perform seven times - including his masterpiece beating Dick Tiger for the crown in Atlantic City.
Thank you for your interest.

This is why I come to this site to speak with people of knowledge like yourself. I can only imagine how amazing it must have been to see your idols in person. You should post more stories of your times at Philly. Most of the things we read are 2nd hand information that can be gained off of google but your knowledge is first hand. Wow. Was Hagler considered a very hot prospect in the early days? Don't tell me you saw his fights with Finnegan???pbchron wrote:Evren, I did get to see all of Hagler's Philly fights in person.
