Copper box

Post by WelshJack »

Mitchell Smith pulls out apart from Cleverly and Chisora in one sides fights and a Frank Buglioni fight this is a dire card, does anyone think they will do anything to change this e.g Enzo v Fry a week earlier (I hope)

Is it really THAT bad a card?

As a domestic card it stacks up fairly reasonably - Chisora in a Euro defence against an experienced opponent; Cleverly, who was a World champion until a few months ago, coming back against Daniel Amman, who is no world beater, but is tough, will come to fight and is naturally the bigger man. You also have Skeete v Lynes in what will surely be a competitive, if not wildly entertaining, battle for the english title. Chuck in Buglioni against his latest tomato can, the Angelou brothers and Georgie Kean, and it's not a bad card at all.

Maybe the problem is that it is being over sold. This is not a night of high end international boxing, but a set of decent domestic level fights. Can't see much wrong with that.

Nathan is out, and the heavyweight title clash is no longer for the European title. Apparently somebody at the EBU just realised what a sxxt fight it actually is. Its now for some inter-rubbish titles.

What a load of rubbish this show is.

Don't get me wrong, I am a BN subscriber and will tune in and enjoy every minute of the show. In terms of this promoter putting on a big London show, it is rubbish, that's what I mean. It does look like he is in terminal decline as a promoter. If he announced a show, and the bill remained unchanged on fight night, it would be a fluke.

In fairness this has turned into a weak show. Cant see the Copperbox being full for this.
Surely Amman is already here. Couldnt they get him an opponent & keep him on the bill?

Throw him in with David Dolan for the Commonwealth title and have the winner fight Cleverly next. Keeps the show on the road, Ammann gets to fight and Dolan gets thrown into last chance saloon.

I know the Buglioni opponent is not good by any means but I actually think the opponent is still a step up.

And I think Chisora's fight is just serving a purpose of being a ranking fight and keeping him active.

Certainly not the worst card we've seen but in saying that I'll be interested to see how full the arena is.

There will be about 100 less there than if Clev was still on.

What's happened to Billy Joe Saunders? Wasn't he supposed to be on this card originally?
