He is 35 so time isn't on his side. European at the very best.

More likely he will defending his British against one of Hearns other boys at a similar weight. Essentially will be a stepping stone, but of course whoever wins, Eddie will come with the champion and leave with the champion

I'm pleased for Hamilton but there's not point in being placed at the top and getting pounded a la Lee Purdy.

They are maybe looking for Darren to defend his title against Tom Stalker at some point next year?
Darren struggled with the movement of Adil Anwar and Eddie might see him as an ideal step up opponent for Stalker who has lots of talent and great footwork when he uses it.
I'm not saying Tom Stalker would win but with his pedigree it is a winnable fight.
It will also show what Tom Stalker will do in the pro ranks when he has a limited but very strong, fit hungry fighter on his case for 12 rounds.

I'd expect a fight with Curtis Woodhouse next on the Coyle undercard in Hull in February. Can't see him going past domestic level though, strength will only take you so far and at 35 time isn't on his side. Should look for a fight with Willie Limond for the Commonwealth title.
