All over the media spilling his guts reaching out constantly apologizing to Holyfield for the ear biting

incident, carrying this heavy burden. Poor Tyson..... The reality of it all is that Evander Holyfield

is a blatant dirty fighter that has always used his head as a weapon and was warned by Team Tyson

leading up to their rematch. What happens? Again Holyfield was his head butting tactics splitting the

eye open of Mike Tyson very early in the fight...not by a punch but a dirty, filfthy headbutt. What

makes matters worse was that there was no penalty and Holyfield was attempting to take advantage

of the situation pummeling Tyson forcing a TKO stoppage, then riding off into the sunset praising

God for the victory

I'm not saying it was right to bite Holyfield but I will say Holyfield was the initial instigator of the

fiasto that take place that night! But for some reason Holyfield is the victim and Mike Tyson is the

villian out of the situation spilling his guts over and over reaching out to Holyfield. All I am saying

is that Mike should love himself better than that this Holyfield guy, had that fight been able to

continue would have MAULED him to a bloody mess and thought nothing of it

I agree with parts of this Holyfield has always used his head probably more than any other top fighter I have seen(remember what he did to Rahman with his head), obviously Tyson's actions aren't justified but they are understandable. Has Holyfield ever been warned for use of his head?

I'm sure that he was warned for using his head against James Toney, I'm less sure that it was Jay Nady who reffed, I will have to check.

That low punch he landed against Dokes was a 'corker' ! Crikey that may have affected the outcome of the fight!

When it comes to Evan Fields I'm really torn between absolute admiration and intense dislike.

The low blow at Dokes I can grudgingly admire, it's dirty and it's against the rules, but the other guy is free to respond in kind. If that's what it takes to turn a fight, then some guy are just willing to go that far.

The whole PED thing I really don't like when it comes to Fields. I get that someone willing to do anything to win will invariably (in this day and age) chemically maximise his training.

It's not fair, and it's not rational but Holyfield is the most courageous boxer I have ever seen and I tend to judge him more harshly for something that every fukker in the sport is into. (He could have beaten Tyson in the return without beefing up into Incredible Hulk proportions).

Though we have to assume "innocent until proven guilty" it's a little foolish to believe that a good amount of boxers have been or are on some sort of PED.

We're talking about individuals who most likely came from tough/hard financial situations and are trying to compete in a sport that deep down they know is run by intensely corrupt business & politic like mentalities. Then factor in that they're around people & taking advice from people that know a lot more what they're talking about (business management, promotional management, exercise science, nutrition, supplemental nutrition) then they do so they'll not so surely or some what naively (or even some times blatantly) take their word for it because most boxers are of a desperate mind-set trying to succeed in a sport that is so difficult to succeed in. So in essence their integrity and morals are an after-thought and they sell their soul for the almighty fame & dollar.

Sum are just outstanding boxers and been the man since early elementary school , no need to be weak mentally and take cheater pellets

This is pro boxing that we're talking about here not point sparring Karate. Part of the game is knowing how to handle yourself in there. While Holyfield is certainly not a clean fighter I've seen a heck of a lot worse. Besides that Tyson should be one of the last guys to be complaining about dirty tactics. I lost count over the years of watching him fight where he would hit guys low, on the break, after the bell etc. The way to handle that stuff is instead of crying to the referee to save you is to do what Douglas did when he fought Tyson. Whenever Tyson tried his hitting low/hitting on the break tactics Douglas stood right up to him and wouldn't have it firing right back. Typical of most thugs Tyson was just fine dishing it out, getting a taste of his own medicine he wasn't so crazy about however.

Guys will typically use questionable tactics for several reasons. One reason is that they are frustrated and can't do anything with you and don't know what else to do. Another is to try to frustrate or intimidate you in order to throw you off your game plan and get you so concerned about being fouled that you get away from your main objective. If you stand up to them and get their respect often they'll lay off the fouling tactics. If they are openly fouling trying to get themselves thrown out Golota style there isn't much for you to do, the referee will handle it. If the opponent is more subtle about it like Holyfield, Duran, etc. then you have to know how to handle it and protect yourself. That's part of what being a professional is all about, being able to maintain your composure and deal with what ever your opponent throws at you.
