From a boxing perspective not particularily! Sillakh outboxed him pretty easily in the first but Sillakh having shitty punch resistance and Kovalev having savage power resulted in what we saw.

For the main event tonight I'm figuring...Stevenson stops Bellew in 5 or 6 rounds...we'll see though. If Bellew is able to survive those early rounds I wouldn't be shocked to see him take the lead.

Yeah but Sillakh really does have a dodgy chin! Grachev who's not particularily a big puncher had him on queer street and against Mitchell williams his legs were all over the place aswell.

Not really mate. If you read what I said, I said Sillakh has a lot of boxing ability and speed and power himself but his chin will be his downfall as he's probably chinnier than Khan. Go look back at it.

think that Sillakh is a really talented guy and this has the potential to be an upset. However and this is the big stumbling block to that is that he really seems to have a pretty shitty chin! Even if he boxes Kovalev's head off, unless he can stop him in the process it's near on impossible that he's going to get tagged with something big. I actually feel a bit sorry for Sillakh as I really think he's good enough to be world champion but Kovalev is not a good matchup for him! Just shows how matchmaking plays a big part in boxing. You look at record books and how one guy was a world champion and another wasnt and you tend to automatically think the first guy was a better fighter but quite often it can just be that he was matched a lot easier.

I get that you were aware of Sillakh's limitations, but you also acknowledged that he had good boxing skills and power, to the point that he could score an upset. Now that Kov destroyed him it's only about his limitations, and nothing about the fact that Kovalev was able to hunt down such a good boxer in just a round and a half.

Ive never doubted Kovalev's power at all!

I expected Kovalev to run through Sillakh, and he exceeded my expectations. It was a very bad ass KO requiring very few punches. Kovalev has the power to KO anyone, early even, if he can land a few flush punches.

That can happen to any really good "boxer" though. If you have a tremendous puncher in with someone who by all evidence is really suspect in the punch resistance area then that can happen. I'm not saying that Kovalev is a completely skill less guy who doesnt know what he's doing but I'd be interested to see the Stevenson fight. Anyway, it's just what you prefer. I prefer counter punchers hence why im more keen on Stevenson. Not saying that he will/would beat Kovalev though.
