Though plenty are acting like Groves won the fight. Interesting that the large majority on here dont think he would have.
Froch is not a machine, he's a 36 year old man who had taken some real hammer, Groves is 11 years younger and trained for a 12 round world title fight; he took more out of Froch than Froch did him, he didn't even wobble or go to the floor!
Honestly, can you imagine the ref in the Hamed v Johnson (or Alicea) bout? We'd have been denied a superstar.
What would have been the outcome if the fight was't stopped?

No one knows for certain how George would have coped and after the punches that Froch took early in the fight no one can be sure he'd have had as much as normal in the tank. It'll be argued over for ages.DMA1987 wrote:The majority of a pro-Groves forum.palooka wrote:I think Groves would have done him and was robbed of the opportunity; lots of posters have seen Froch end strong but who's to say Groves wouldn't have done the same?DMA1987 wrote: True. How did you have the fight scored after 8 rounds?palooka wrote:No one knows for certain how George would have coped and after the punches that Froch took early in the fight no one can be sure he'd have had as much as normal in the tank. It'll be argued over for ages.

So if the right wasn't stopped and Froch got a 10-8 in the ninth, Groves would only be three points ahead with three rounds to go. It's not the kind of massive difference people are making out.BLASTER100 wrote:78-73keithmoonhangover wrote:How did you have the fight scored after 8 rounds?palooka wrote:No one knows for certain how George would have coped and after the punches that Froch took early in the fight no one can be sure he'd have had as much as normal in the tank. I'd have to watch it again with paper and pencil Keith; the thing for me was that the rounds he won - he really won big, I'd not seen Froch disturbed like that so regualrly. Froch won a couple of rounds on the quiet but Groves took the rounds he won in an assertive and powerful way.keithmoonhangover wrote:How did you have the fight scored after 8 rounds?palooka wrote:No one knows for certain how George would have coped and after the punches that Froch took early in the fight no one can be sure he'd have had as much as normal in the tank. I agree with you mate. I was wincing when I saw the shots Groves was landing. They only count as 10-9 like all the other round though.palooka wrote:I'd have to watch it again with paper and pencil Keith; the thing for me was that the rounds he won - he really won big, I'd not seen Froch disturbed like that so regualrly. In any case; Froch has the W and Groves will be back - he's a young man with a future.

I hope so, he fought out of his skin until he came unstuck.palooka wrote:Groves will be back - he's a young man with a future.
