Travis Hartman looking for fights in Australia

Post by Travis h. »

I am going to be in Australia from Nov. 30 until Feb. 10 with my GF who is training and playing in tournaments leading up to the Australia Open for Tennis. I would love to have a chance to fight in Australia while I am already over there. I will fight from 147-154.. If anybody has any contacts or can help with this please let me know. I will be in Syndney, then Auckland New Zealand and the end of December will be in Melbourne until Feb. My name is travis Hartman ..

Not too sure if you will get too many takers mate. Jeff Horn has got a huge fight coming up. Tim Hunt, Todd Kidd or Lenny Zappa maybe?

Promoters are always looking for an easy win for their boys and be surprised to see them chuck their boys in with an experienced Yank. Be good experience for a few of those boys I mentioned. Are you still 147 or up to 154?

Yeah I am 147, but don't mind fighting 154. I am 5-11, so I can carry the weight up or down if needed. It would be awesome to fight over here for sure. I am already here so that would save a promoter money from flying me all the way from the States. but we will see. Right now I am trying to adjust to the time change. Only been here in Sydney for one full day.

Where are you training while your here? There doesn't look to be too many opportunities while your out here for someone chasing a welter/junior middle. Maybe someone at a gym in Sydney can get you a contact for a fight. I see Daniel Dawson up against good old TBA but that's this weekend.

I am training at the university here. haven't found a gym for sparring just yet.. I have some contacts on Facebook that have put me in touch with some people. 5,000 friends on fb helps sometimes lol.

All good mate. Love the sport and thought it would be awesome for some of our Aussie guys to get some rounds in with an experienced American. Your obviously here and keen to fight so thats the least I could do. Too bad I'm up in Queensland or I would be there to watch.

Macquarie University.. I think I spelled it right. I am training at the Sydney Olympic Park today. The gf is at the tennsi courts and I am in the gym. I got a message from Pat that said none of the Aussies want to fight me and risk a loss. LOL. I have more losses than wins. But, anyways, I am training while over here and hope to get a chance to fight while in Australia. Would be a dream.

travis,
No way!!! Come on Aussie boxers, what the hell is up with you!!!

Travis - that is appalling if it is true (and I am 100% sure you are telling the truth!).

Also, just been reading through your record, what the f**k happen in the Derrick Samuels fight, what was the story behind the fight being delayed for 4 hours?

Also what is your view on the current version of Mosley, should he retire now?

Nice to have a boxer on this forum!

It was horrible. The samuels fight I was a swing bout for ESPN.. literally every fight went the distance.. so I was last on. Taking nothing away from Samuels... kid can fight. Most of the spectators left but Floyd Mayweather Jr. stuck around and was even shouting instructions out in our fight. Pretty cool. And Yeah, I just got the email yesterday that said that. I am telling the truth, I just wonder if it really is the truth. LOL. But I want to fight anywhere in Australia. Would be cool .

i'll let u know next time I go to homebush.

as far as fighting, its a shame that there r less boxing cards on at this time of the year, otherwise u would likely have a few more options.
