Enzo stopped Fry in the 7th, good fight and he took some good shots
Liam Smith has just put in the performance of his career. Absolutely fantastic, dominated and stopped Thompson early in the 4th after dropping him twice in the 3rd. Real spite in his punches tonight and showed a nasty streak we haven't seen before from him.

Enzo did well against a motivated Fry; Liam did fantastic v Thompson and would cope well with a move up in levels; he was very good.
Re: Echo Arena RBR
Think Rabchenko's fighting for the WBC next or after another fight, so a defence of the British then moving towards the European in the summer would be a good plan. Wants the Lonsdale outright first though so I'd expect a European title fight by the end of 2014, followed by a progression towards the world scene in 2015.palooka wrote:Good postexpe wrote:Enzo stopped Fry in the 7th, good fight and he took some good shots

Re: Echo Arena RBR
What channel is this on guys?
Re: Echo Arena RBR
Selkirk stops Sera in the 3rd with a bodyshot, made it up at 8 but was waved off after being beaten up for 3 rounds and a badly cut eye. Sera wasn't upto much, brave but little else, makes you wonder who he was beating to get to 12-0. Good performance from Selkirk, won't have learned anything, but a top 15 WBO ranking and being in the ring will have done him good. Hopefully the Heffron fight gets made for March 7th at the Echo.
Re: Echo Arena RBR
Selkirk bashed him up, 3rd round (I was on computer but the opponent didn't have a proper corner)
Re: Echo Arena RBR
Yep, Lillis and Bell have had a real go about the lack of a cutman, or even adrenaline in the corner and the board letting it go, but stopping Courtney Fry from fighting for a title because he was half an hour late for a check weigh in.palooka wrote:Selkirk bashed him up, 3rd round (I was on computer but the opponent didn't have a proper corner)
Re: Echo Arena RBR
I'm glad that they spoke up; it's good to have people who will put their heads up; we've got it good in Britain re boxing and how it's tun but some of it is dodgy and unfair; that respected people are willing to say something does make me feel a little better (and less likely to smash something up)expe wrote:Yep, Lillis and Bell have had a real go about the lack of a cutman, or even adrenaline in the corner and the board letting it go, but stopping Courtney Fry from fighting for a title because he was half an hour late for a check weigh in.palooka wrote:Selkirk bashed him up, 3rd round (I was on computer but the opponent didn't have a proper corner)
Re: Echo Arena RBR
What's happening here? Anyone watching update us please as I'm stuck in a hotel in Aberdeen and have no allegedly. Cheers
Re: Echo Arena RBR
I turned it over to watch Barker v Sturm (Sturm win in 2) Butler v Montoya ongoing and Butler boxing ok, 4 rounds up and montoya pressing.
Re: Echo Arena RBR
Butler outboxing Montoya at the moment, looks really good, very fluid movements. Into the 5th now.Stevolad wrote:What's happening here? Anyone watching update us please as I'm stuck in a hotel in Aberdeen and have no Allegedly channel. Cheers
Re: Echo Arena RBR
Got a lot of time for Butler, looked a class act in the previous fights I have seen of his.
Re: Echo Arena RBR
Montoya is making Butler work, he's ducking and diving a lot Butler, montoya is slinging some heavy punches and is landing a bit more. Things are heating up. Butler hands down and mugging a bit for the crowd, Butler is the more precise and better boxer and Montoya is slightly smaller and looks a strong lad. The commentators have Butler up well, last round maybe shared.
Re: Echo Arena RBR
A Butler round, he has made Montoya miss and is very confident, boxing and moving, gesturing at montoya.
Re: Echo Arena RBR
I'm sure he won't be losing much sleep over it but I have absolutely zero interest in Butler for some reason. Might be the lack of name opposition (not a criticism as the super-fly division is hard to match) but just cannot get excited about his bouts.
Re: Echo Arena RBR
Montoya doing a lot of slapping.
Re: Echo Arena RBR
He's a good lad but needs someone to push him, he's like peter culshaw, he won't get up for people he should beat easy.steve689 wrote:I'm sure he won't be losing much sleep over it but I have absolutely zero interest in Butler for some reason. Re: Echo Arena RBR
If Butler put his foot on the gas this would have been fun but...he's TOO happy to fight on the backfoot.
Re: Echo Arena RBR
Anyone know why Derry-Ormond is over 10 considering it's a title fight and a main event? What's up with that?
Re: Echo Arena RBR
I agree he was boring me. Wondering around the ring with his hands down by his waist when he clearly could of stopped the guy that's not boxing imo that's play fighting.iamasadlittleboy wrote:If Butler put his foot on the gas this would have been fun but...he's TOO happy to fight on the backfoot.
Re: Echo Arena RBR
I thought Butler was really good. He sat back on the ropes a bit too much but his reflexes and defence were superb. Dont think he could have finished that tough Mexican. Think a world title is within reach for him.
