Barker-Sturm RBR (Anyone Cheering The German Will Be Killed)
Re: Barker-Sturm RBR (Anyone Cheering The German Will Be Killed)
sturm is a monster. He punched a guy in the face and the force dislocated, partially, the guys hip.

That was after he'd been down though.keithmoonhangover wrote:He could barely walk in the second round. He was injured mate. It happens.columbo wrote:Yeah but cmon mate whenever a fighter loses like this and an injury is mentioned then you always hear this type of thing.

I do feel gutted for Barker. Popular fighter and likeable guy, but Sturm was seriously ready for this tonight.

No, Barker went back to the corner at the end of the first and told them his hip had gone. What more evidence do you want than that.columbo wrote:That was after he'd been down though.keithmoonhangover wrote:He could barely walk in the second round. He was injured mate. He was moving fine before the knockdowns though mate. When he got put down it was then that he looked uncomfortable on his feet.

His corner to call the doctor to the ringside and tell the ref that his hip has gone and that he cannot go on; if Sturm had hit him with 1 or 2 flush punches (the argument for Froch stoppage the other week) he may have been in serious trouble; better that than to wait to be battered and knocked down twice and then mention it.

Blimey sounds like he has cashed out big time. I might be way off but it I now strongly suspect that barker went into this knowing his body was broken. I wish I had the inside track for a punt before the fight.MarkMcBurney wrote:Hearn and Sims saying Barker has retired.

Barker was saying he had achieved all he wanted to.
The man said on that silly. Idle weights gloves off nonsense that he was only still in the game to earn a few quid. Tonight he got that few quid. Good luck in retirement

He also said his missus spends money like nobodies business so for his sake I hope he is secure in that regard.lillywhite14 wrote:Barker was saying he had achieved all he wanted to.

And now he's shown the clever way to go about it we can expect more of it in the future, anyone who doesn't do the same will feel a fool; the money came from somewhere and it will ultimately come from boxing fans, the £1,000,000 wasn't conjured out of the ether.

Boxer A pulls out of a fight 2 weeks before. "He should have fought injured for the fans that paid for tickets & hotels.
Boxer B fights with slight injury which gets worse during the fight. "He should have pulled out before the fight, he's disrespected the fans by fighting injured.
