That would mean Sky putting on a good undercard ha.. Can't see Clark v Walsh as Walsh signed with Queensberry.. Sure Harrison is as well.. Harrison would stop Cardle.. Simpson v Roberts would actually be quite interesting and would maybe bring the best out in Roberts although again can't see the Roberts camp wanting that.. Ryder v McEwan a very good match.. Would much prefer to see Cornish v Dallas as Lewison maybe a bit much at this time. Also i would like to see Simmons v Dawson..

I'm guessing the undercard will be:

Jon Slowey v TBA
David Brophy v TBA
Michael Roberts Jnr v TBA
Stephen Simmons v TBA
Luke Campbell v TBA
Scott Cardle v TBA

Anyone willing to bet ha
Well, Campbell won't be on there because of the Hull show a week later, Cardle's more likely to fight down here since despite the accent he's from Lytham. Dawson's with Warren and has a British title fight around the same time so he won't be fighting Simmons. I can see there being a crap undercard to this one unless the imports are decent.

It really is.

Neither fighter is big enough, that's not a slight on either but it's true.

No I get the point that your making but on paper would you say either Brook or Broner are big enough names to be PPV over here at present?

Thought Hearn had booked the Hydro for the 8th February? Or with Ricky not back sparring yet will it be a bit later on?

Frank would have vacated and gone to 140.

Credit to Eddie. Ricky needs all the help he can get in this one I think.

He would have done the same as Hearn and forked out to bring Crawford over, like he's done many times in the past.

The Herald reported recently Eddie had booked the Hydro for the 8th of February:

http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/oth ... r.22744007

"RICKY BURNS, the World Boxing Organization lightweight champion from Coatbridge, will defend his title at Glasgow's SSE Hydro Arena on February 8."

"Eddie Hearn, the Scot's promoter, has booked the 12,000-capacity venue following the collapse of former world champion David Haye's bout with Tyson Fury, scheduled for the same date."

"Hearn said: "When the Haye-Fury fight fell through, February 8 became a free Sky date and we contacted a number of venues in Glasgow to determine their availability. Apart from Braehead Arena, the only other venue free is the Hydro and we have booked that because we want to be the first to stage major boxing there."

I'd be very surprised if they tried to make this PPV however I wouldn't rule it out.

Probably the best in the division, he's just not everyone cup of tea! It's been a disappointing year for Ricky hopefully he can pull it out the bag without the judges help

I've read it's either the 8th or 22nd of Feb. Hearns tweet says date to be confirmed - the 14th is a Friday by the way.

Good opportunity for Ricky to make a statement here with some American interest. Tough fight though.

Glad Hearn has dug deep to get the fight over here. Crawford is a good boxer and Ricky will need to be at his best to beat him. Another good night of boxing for Scottish fight fans.
Am sure there will be title shots for Big Simmons, Slowey, Micheal Roberts and Brophy. Am guessing John Simpson will get another crack at a SuperFeather or featherweight title. I also heard Ryan Collins and Micheal Jameson might be on card. Nothing confirmed yet but.

Don't know enough about Crawford, but judging by others opinions of him and the way Burns has fought the last couple of times I'm guessing we are going to have to see a big improvement from Burns in order to hold onto the title.

Glad its in the UK, can't see it being PPV. All the best to Ricky :TU:

Slim to none i'd have thought.
I imagine though that Eddie has had to fork out to get Crawford to agree to come over here. It was gonna go to purse bids and I imagine he earns a decent amount fighting on HBO in the states.
Crawford does't have much of a say in it. If it was to be in the states, Ricky would have got 80% of the purse so Top Rank would have to fork out massive $$$$$ for a purse that wouldn't go to their fighter.

This should be interesting. Everyone on the current scene forum thinks Crawford takes him to school and wins easy.

Hope Ricky proves people wrong but needs to be better than his last two fights.

Never trust the Americans when they start hyping a fighter up, ends badly half the time.

I don't even think Burns has been back sparring since the jaw surgery from what I have read. This fight may not even happen.

Yes I know plenty of time but is it not a slight worry that there hasn't been a feel for knowing if it is fully healed?

Should be a cracking tactical contest it's just a broken jaw is a major injury and could take a long time to heal fully.
