Tony Jeffries here boxing Vs UFC & more views

Post by jaffa1 »

Never been on this website for years but seen a link to it when googled my name and the blacklist looking for a clip.

I stopped coming on here because of all the keyboard worriers, so thought I would of been getting a load of shit when I came back on tonight because some people can't help there selfs but in stead I'm getting lots of positive support so I would like to thank you all.

I'm in a great place now in my life and have the best gym in LA (rated by yelp) please if any of you are in califonia come and pop in to say hello or have a work out.

A few of my views on boxing:

Frankie Gavin is the best fighter in the UK
James Degale will beat groves if they fight again
Groves will beat froch if they fight again
Tyson Fury is amazing for boxing
Head gauds should stay in the Olympics
Boxing is the best workout there is.
The Smith brothers are all amazing athletes.
Audley Harrison deserves more respect

UFC is a lot better organized than boxing read here https://www.facebook.com/olympian.tony/ ... 1449949388 )

I don't know if I will be back on here so get me on twitter if u wanna get in touch I will reply unless your a nob u will get blocked

Thanks so much for the support means the world to me after retirement.

Glad you're doing well Tony, but surprised by some of your opinions. Perhaps it's all that sun mate!

Frankie Gavin is the best fighter in the UK - Definitely Up there but may not be the best
James Degale will beat groves if they fight again - No chance, not sure if they stream channel 5 out in America?
Tyson Fury is amazing for boxing - Sometimes, has a great mouth on him but he is not the saviour of the HW division

Can't say I agree with headguards they are annoying!!
I love how the ufc run there company!! But you have to remember there are many mma promoters over here that struggle & if the produce one fighter who's a star they lose him.
Maybe the governing body's like WBC should stamp it out & only let there champion contest for one belt
Hope your good tony, bet you've been banging some top crumpet out there ha!

I've highlighted your points that I wish to comment on.

I was one of those keyboard warriors as you put it - to be honest sick to death of statements like yours - I feel we shouldnt have to suck up to a boxer just because they frequent this forum, if something needs to be said or points made then get on with it - however just because a negative point or points are made - to get out of them posters like myself are called keyboard warriors and all hell breaks loose on here.

I know through so many people you are a top man, I also think boxing is poorer without the likes of you not boxing.

Your Dad in my view is one of the very best promoters I have worked for ... I have whipped etc etc on a number of promoters shows and your Dad definitely does NOT belong in "promoters are ***ts" club - I remain convinced if someone like him had a TV contract, he and North East boxing could go places.

Tyson Fury is amazing for boxing?? - please could you elaborate on that because I cannot see how.

Thanks for reading ... do you train anyone on the professional front over there?

And you're not! Fury has captivated a lot of the casuals, especially in the North. But you should know that as you're in Northallerton.

Tony Jeffries has/had genuine one punch knock-out power a soild chin and better skills than he was given credit for, he was maybe not the most fluid looking fighter but neither was Carlos Monzon or Carl Froch.

I still think he makes a comeback in America !

There's a good Joe Calzaghe (extended) interview in the recent Boxing News 2013 annual. His left hand is now permanently swollen and lumpy and he can no longer make a fist. Are your hands the same?

The expected response.

I stand by my comment that boxing is the poorer without you in it.

As far as your comment towards me is concerned, isnt that a bit like the pot calling kettle? go on Jaffa prod a little bit more!!! :TU:
