Can't find his record anywhere if he is from the north of Irelend the depending on his political and social background he may choose to call himslef British or Irish, for example Brian Maggee refuses to fight for the British Heavyweight belt because he sees himself as Irish

He's from Derry and in these parts very few people consider themselves british. He is also accomapanied to the ring by the Irish tricolor.

About one third of the population in Northern Ireland wish to be considered as Irish citizens, while the majority considered themselves British. Britain contains a population of several million Irish-born people and their descendants. Until 1949, all persons born in Ireland who wished to obtain a British passport were granted one by the British authorities.

People in Northern Ireland are generally de facto dual citizens. Statistics for the number of Northern Irish residents who avail of this situation are not explicitly kept. I wouldn't really want an Irish passport, but I'm certainly very proud of my Irish background. I just came back from my cousin's wedding there last week, and had a great time. Good to see all the family again. I'm there almost every year, been doing that since I was a baby.
