I dont think he takes his boxing seriously enough. He goes round touring the states with rappers like Lil Wayne. There was a video of him leaked last week having a threesome with a couple of dancers/hookers.
I have to say that I watched the pre fight shows and though he was nobbish I didn't dislike Broner all that much; he seemed to put in hard work and it may be that he has to tone down the out of ring stuff - I imagine a fair bit of it is a confection, he'd decided he would be the man people wanted to see lose and acted up to it. I imagine he's devastated today and I wouldn't wish that on anyone - he's lost a hell of a lot by losing a fight, if he comes back well it'll say a lot about his true character, regardless of the silly things that come out of his mouth.

Leaked? Broner recorded it and clearly released it and then made a lame denial. He's just an attention seeking little pr!ck. Maidana is also well renowned for liking booze and strip clubs so those reasons don't wash with me. I just think he was too sued to bashing up midgets and got done by someone his same size who is very unorthodox. Really enjoyed it. Broner is a pretty despicable human being. Was glad to see him get a chasing. :TU:

Sorry, just re-listened to it, he had Maidana winning. Sorry. My confusion was him saying he had thought Broner would win BEFORE the fight but was wrong.

Was half listening like I said!

Meh.

He's a fvckwit. He made his reputation off beating smaller fighters. He's been babied his entire career & because of his connections always had the playing field slanted for him (ask Vicente Escobedo how happy he is this afternoon). Added to that, he deliberately goes out of his way to engender a reaction.

& that cvnting lead forearm/elbow into the face thing is the only thing he's learned off Floyd, & frankly makes me want to see the arse solidly kicked of whomever employs it. Only promoter's boys get away with it. The first time he tried it, Maidana hit him right in the nuts. So kudos to Marcos for employing the patented Datsue Method of Retributive Action To A Bullshit "Professional" Foul.

I couldn't have been happier & was quite glad he didn't get knocked out, just so he could get smacked around some more.

I appreciate our opinions may differ on this & I am in no way impugning yours, but I sense a teensy-tiny bit of the devil's advocate being played here & frankly you couldn't find a bigger cock-end to defend.

You play the pudendum, you forfeit all rights to sympathy & empathy when you get your comeuppance. Want sympathy & empathy? Don't employ being a pudendum for financial gain.

PS: Also, I've said it before, I'll say it again: I just go "YAY" every single time a really good athlete who has obviously never properly learned how to box loses. The very first time Maidana jabbed to his midsection you could see on his face "Hang on, is that legal?" Being one of the Kermit Cintron/Andre Berto clones invading my fvcking sport is reason enough to dislike him, imo.

You really are a cockend. Give me your address and I`ll send you a bag to carry.

You write "You stupid ****" spoiler!!!" to someone you proably don`t even know. Your only reason being that someone who did not want to know the Broner result would have found it out by going on a boxing forum and clicking on a link that said "Broner - Maidana". You sir are the stupid ****.

Saw that. Despite the ego the size of his Father, I couldn`t help but feel sorry for Broner. I have no doubt being a ghetto kid suddenly thrown into stardom is not easy to deal with.

He can come again, but his confidence will have taken a real dent.

Well done Maidana a truly wonderful win and performance. I didn't think he had that in him as I thought his power would be dimished at Welterweight.

The warning signs I guess were there when a light punching Welter in Paulie Malignaggi gave Broner one or two problems.

However, I think the fights fans have generally gone over board with this one.... yeah we could question some of Broner's opponents.... but on this thread I've heard him described as "an athlete who cannot box".

If thats the case - Bob Fitzsimmons and Lennox Lewis aside, we have never produced anybody decent in the UK. We've never had a three weight world champion.

Comparisons with Lacy and Berto are already being made.... little bit early to write off Broner yet and already at 24 he has achieved more than most British greats.

Needs to move to Lightweight and work up to 147.

A lot of these guys now, Andre Berto, are wrestlers, but they box too. If you don’t learn this craft outside of athleticism – people come to me and say, This kid is talented. I say, Bernard Hopkins is TALENTED. Roy Jones is GIFTED. And we know a gift is given to you. So we all play basketball and you get more rebounds than all of us, you’re more talented than us? As simple as what? As simple as a proper old-school boxing trainer explaining the qualitative difference between someone who gets by on athletic/physical gifts as opposed to someone who's learned the craft properly...?

No, im saying as simple it's purely their athleticism that's got them to the point there at. They have no boxing ability at all and it's purely their physical gifts that have got them to where they are. I'm wondering why Mr Woodhouse isnt at the top echelons of the sport then.

Adrien Broner is an advert for boxing regulation. There are so many titles now we have become accustomed to 'world champions' being several years and many defences into their reign before they are put into a 50/50 fight. All these belts make it very easy for fighters, managers, promoters and TV channels to milk gullible hype-gobbling boxing fans for as much money as possible.

The horror in Broner's face as Maidana punched through his posturing and pitty-pat, and made a mockery of his shoulder roll 'defence', was something to behold. It looked to me the same nightmare Floyd Mayweather would experience, were he to find himself sharing a ring with Armstrong, Zivic, Robinson, Griffith, Leonard, Duran, Hearns et al.

Because... He's not a good enough athlete to compensate for the lack of fundamentals? & he's been unfortunate enough to fight dyed-in-the-wool fighters?

I really don't see the problem with this summation. It's obvious Richardson means there's a qualitative difference between someone versed in the fundamentals & those who are not & compensate by amazing athletic gifts.

We saw the results of that last night.

Note what Broner did the first time Maidana jabbed him to the body. It threw him off completely, like he's never expected anyone to do that to him before.

This. Apart from the bit of your post I didn't agree with, which I edited out for clarity's sake & to save some nitpicking nutsack coming along

PS: Just for you, nitpickers: obviously I do not include Floyd in the aforementioned. & neither would Richardson. Because we're both not mad.

I'm not saying these guys dont rely on their athleticism to a large degree but to come to the conclusion that they have no boxing ability at all is naive IMO. Athleticism plays a large part in sports generally. That's why a more athletically gifted Dawson beat Hopkins.
