Broner Vs Khan?

Post by Monte Fisto »

How about this as a match up in 2014??

Lets say Khan picks up a loss against Mayweather and Broner a victory elsewhere.

I think this could be a fun fight. Even if Khan fights Mayweather next, this could be an interesting 2014 showdown at some point.

I think i'd pick Khan to win this. What do you think on the match-up and winner?

It would def be a good fight to watch, Khan is never in a bad fight, and I would pick him to win.

Khan beat Malignaggi and Maidana, Broner lost to them.

Khan is better.

I think there's a chance it could happen before then. Maidana might end up getting the Mayweather shot.

Broner is flat footed and the shoulder roll, when done badly, is useless against combinations. Unless he lands big, Khan wins more or less every round, providing he can get in and out and be disciplined enough not to get caught.

Under Hunter though he seems to of become a lot more cautious. I think if he fought like he did against Diaz against Broner he'd be in trouble. If he fights like the old Khan then you'd have to favour him. Ps I dont think Broner is as flat footed as he seems a lot of the time as every now and again he'll show glimpses of being quick on his feet. I think the problem is that he's lazy and instead of trying to use his feet to evade punches he uses that knock off shoulder roll with the right hand up to block the hook but it doesnt work.

Khan is an interesting one actually when it comes the athleticism vs boxing ability thing.... and really shows it isn't black and white.

Khan... amazingly gifted handspeed etc (athletisms) but terrible chin (I would suggest that is something that cannot be taught).

In someways Khan has shown some strong boxing ability to actually be a world champion with that massive disadvantage. At the same time he shows some major errors in terms of offensive skills the fact he struggles to beat fighters he has such huge advantages over in terms of speed and punch output (he is poor at working an opening).

Fantastic fight with Broner... Khan can give anyone a fight.... think Broner will just be too powerful though. Hard fight to call, particularly without seeing Broner in a tune up.

x2 on this. I was so pleased to maidana walk him down in his strategy. I know that it what he always does, but I had a fear he was going to try something different due to the respect they had for Broner.

Khan Broner could provide all sorts of pre fight antics also. Would sell I think

I honestly think he does have footwork there but I think that he's so arrogant and has such a lack of respect for his opponents and their power that he just thinks fornicate it I can take their punches when they land, etc.

Broner is only 24, this fight will hopefully be a lesson for him. Whilst its easy to want to see him lose, would be shame if he doesn't come back better.

I'd expect a better Broner facing khan if it happens.

I dont know. In a more grounded fighter I would expect it to be a positive experience but he's so arrogant that he'll probably chalk it down to some kind of fluke rather than actually learn from it.

I still think Broner could beat Khan. Khan doesnt have the same style as Maidana and couldnt keep the same kind of pressure on Broner as Maidana did.

I would still class that as a 50-50 fight and think Broner would possibly have enough pop in his punches to hurt Khan.

I said it before the malignaggi fight, Khan would absolutely pizza face broner.

Adrien is far to static and has such low output Amir would tap that all night. People forget how good Khan can be at just peppering his opponents all night.

I'd hope for a Paul Sameuls vs Cello Renda double-ko.

I'd love to see this one
I'd lean towards khan, probably about a 60/40 fight for me though

This is the kind of fight khan should be in

I hate Khan and am a big Broner so bit biased, but I just think if Broner hits Khan once clean it could be over if it goes to points clean sweep for Khan.

Would be a great matchup and interesting to see. Khan takes it for me but you never know with Khan if he gets clipped.

I'd take Khan to win this if he boxes smartly, as Broners footwork is very poor and he's quite lazy. Khan just has to avoid is forward charges for 30 seconds a round then 1-2 and move. I think Khan may even stop him. Of course Amir might get hit on the chin but he survived against Marcos Maidana and hurt Marcos in return as well.

Broner would knock out Khan.
Not that this fight will happen.
He had a bad night against Maidana but I have watched the fight back.
He was beaten but he will come back and would easily win a rematch IMO.
Take a look at what Bradley did against Provodnikov and the complete different tack against Marquez for the blueprint.
He wasn't as buzzed as Khan was against Maidana if not for the ref Khan was stopped in that fight.
Im glad for chino he deserves great credit for a good win and being generous in spirit to Broner who frankly is a prick.
However I think that loss could be the making of Broner he has a decent chin and can get back up.
Needs a new trainer and attitude and a loss might just bring the changes needed.
How people are still talking about Khan is beyond me.
He is a national embarrassment and this will only be compounded by his unworthy shot at Mayweather.
Khan if he really did beat Maidana fair and sq which he didn't.
Should chase the rematch and go take the title he is a fraud and quite how so many knowledgeable people are still buying into him I will never understand .

He is mickey in fact he is a multi national embarrassment.
British Pakistan and the nation of Islam.
From the way his team conducted their business before his losses.
The shocking way he blamed everyman and his dog for his inability to follow instructions.
Losing after disrespecting you opponents in the build up.
Every time he opens his mouth or gets caught wanking on Skype
or does the chicken dance he causes embarrassment.
I could go on but nothing would sway the throng of hype worshippers that refuse to see what"s in front of them.

Not entirely true though fella is it? From the moment he won Olympic silver he captured the casual boxing fan. Follow on from that he's won world titles so you can't just say that he's a complete emabrassment that's just stupid. I'm not keen on him as it happens but his accomplishments are there to see. His flaws too obviously but you seem to dislike him more than most and that is plain to see :TU:

He's only been stopped twice, both times by punchers. If it was anyone else, people would be saying he had great recuperative powers!
