Juan Diaz Weight-Class 135 - not 140

Post by JCS »

I see someone took the time to put Floyd at 140.. why not put Diaz back where he actually belongs and holds a major championship... at 135..

Done. I've changed him from jr. welter to lightweight in the past but he keeps getting changed back.

Some editors are obviously dummies. I like how Winky Wright keeps changing from Ronald Wright, to Ronald 'Winky' Wright. Theres a column strictly for nicknames, its not a fuckin middle name for christ sakes.

Anyway, thanks for the change, hopefully it'll stick.

I agree -- he fights as Winky Wright so he should be listed as such -- leave Ronald for Birth name

Castillo should probably be at 135 too. I mean, yeah we know he weighed in over vs diego II.. but until we know where he's going to campaign.. why change him?

Well he doesn't have a title, so that makes his situation different than Mayweather or Diaz.

But regardless of what he weighed in as.. It was originally a lightweight fight. His last fight was technically a lightweight fight.. so was the fight before that, etc.

The issue is becoming overly technical.

That would be me to whom you are referring. I'm a big believer that we should list Winky Wright as Winky Wright. That's the name he's known by and that's the name that pretty much all media refer to him as. No one but the hardcore fan knows that Ronald is his first name. It's not a nickname, it's a ring name. There is a huge difference. For the same reason that we don't list Sugar Ray Robinson as Walker Smith or Joe Louis as Joe Louis Barrows we should not list Winky Wright as Ronald Wright.

I was referring to Ronald 'Winky' Wright as the BAD LISTING. I am OK with Ronald Wright, or Winky Wright.

Tell it to the Commish.
The names and weights are listed by them on “official sheets”.
But then, the Commissions themselves don’t always agree on everything.
