Your Best British Fight of 2013

Post by TopGun »

As we approach the final few weeks, it's time to reflect.

For me it is Groves vs Froch. Great fight, had great build up/hype and lived up to all expectation.

Has to be Froch v Groves. Can`t really think of any others off the top of my head (i did like Froch v Bute and Kessler but not really FOTY candidates)

There have been some cracking overseas fights.

I was going to say Ochieng vs Quigley.... but that was way over a year ago now (getting old).

Froch vs Kessler for me - thought it was a bigger event than the Groves one and the sorry to say but the ending did spoil the Groves fight for me.

Froch vs Groves is the fight that has generated most buzz after the fight, but before it... Kessler vs Froch.

International - nowhere near fight of the year... but purely for an event got to go with Mayweather vs Alvarez.

Burns vs Gonzalez must be worth a mention. Smith vs Dodson too.

I also found Crolla vs Rees to be gripping. The welterweight prizefighter also very entertaining

Froch and Groves for me but Khan V Diaz was a great fight as you did not know what was going to happen next. It was good entertainment as Amir was boxing well till he did his funny dance and could of been tagged again late on. I know it was early on in the year but it is defo worth a mention

Martin Murray vs Sergio Martinez
Wild atmosphere, UK vs Argentina bad blood
Underrated Murray (Huge underdog) vs 1 of best P4P in world coming off 1 sided win of Chavez

What a fight full of entertainment and end of seat action and controversy

Also enjoyed Enzo vs Mckenzie
