James DeGale - your time is coming

Post by mullenman »

Great news for Degale being ordered to fight PeriBan
http://www.BS.com/degale-perib ... lay--72838

Anybody else notice Degale ringside for the Excel card beside Eddie,
Sign him up Eddie and get these big fights for him in England,
Periban and Bika would not come over to fight in a shopping centre

If Degale were to win we would have , Benn, Collins, Eubanks all over again,
People were always talking about Macklin, Barker, Murray, Lee but the supermiddle weights are world levels fighters with much bigger support

Froch, Groves, Degale for unification fights
that would be legendary status for them all.

DeGale is a fraud. I can't understand how anyone thinks he's going to win a version of the world title. Can't punch, takes way too many shots, lacks gears and, increasingly, mobility. He's on a downward spiral.

I think he'll up his game with a decent opponent. I think he's better than you lot really want to give him credit for.

i wouldn't put degale in the same bracket as benn, eubanks and collins ...i don't dislike him but you're jumping the gun a bit ,i think he's gone even further down the list after groves epic clash with froch

As much as I give Eddie stick on here, I hope something comes of that as he's just floundering with Hennessy unfortunately.

I agree. I dont particularily like the way he slaps with his punches but you cant deny that he does have ability. I think he'd give Groves another tough fight if they fought again and he'd also give Froch a lot of problems I think.

I don`t see him having the power to trouble Froch, or the strength to keep him off for 12 rounds. He spends too much time on the ropes and that would work out badly for him against Froch.

I could see him pushing Groves close again though. He needs to get a move on with his career.

I disagree Ben. de gale is a slick as anything we have in UK, yes he eats shots but I think that's because his opponents have not been able to hurt him. Unfortunately I would pick him against Froch, but I think Groves has his doorbell rung everytime they should meet!!

Yes I do, not 4 years ago, froch would have done him, but froch is now in decline im afraid, and degale takes him.

degale's style would give froch headaches , i don't think he'd last the distance but he'd be in the fight for the first half .plus froch looked shot vs groves

Froch looked a bit crap against Groves for the first few rounds, but was beginning to turn it around. The ref stopped it early, but it wouldn't have lasted much longer in my opinion.

The only way DeGale even has a sniff of winning is the hope that Froch is completely and totally spent after a hard career.

Degale would make Froch look even more average than Groves did.. Froch struggles with movement and angles.. Degale would hit him all day and Froch would swing and miss. Degale would win almost every round. No way Team Froch will go anywhere near that fight. It's a New Years resolution Avoid Groves and Degale.

Groves v Degale I can watch time and time again. I had Degale. Winning the amateur and their pro fight.. Both very close. Groves is the one guy that Degale really struggles with and the styles match up great.. Both can beat each other

After that one fight he is in decline? or do you think he has shown decline in his last few fights? or do you just mean in general?

The only reason i say that is because up until the groves fight, the few fights before i think he has been pretty good still and consistant

not arguing with you mate, just curious

im a froch fan and still think Degale would be all wrong for him, also think Degale won the 1st groves fight.
Would love to see him more active i dont understand all the hatred towards british fighters we should be supporting all of them.

Degale gets stuck on the ropes too much, due to his stamina... I mean knee.

He'd still give Groves all he could handle though and has a legitimate shot of becoming a world champion. I'd fancy him over Bika in a tough fight.

:o The Groves backlash is getting ridiculous now. The same Carl Froch that took rounds off Andre Ward and consistently beaten world-class opposition would get whitewashed by a guy who hasn't operated in the big leagues and who has been tagged by fighters far below Froch's level :shame:

I dont think he is as bad as you make out - 2014 will see whether he will make it onto the world stage.

How do you think Groves v Degale 2 would go??

Styles make fights -

I think Degale would get a onesided pasting by Froch.

I think Degale v Groves 2 would be a great fight.

and finally I think Froch v Groves 2 - will be very similar to the first fight except Carl would stop George sooner.
