The only trouble at Froch-Groves was in the floor seats. The peasants behaved.johnswan1 wrote:Sound like a bunch of worthless scumbags.
But, as somebody else above mentioned these lowlifes buy a lot of tickets.
Personally I only go to live boxing events if I'm ringside, and that is usually at some of the smaller shows. It tends to filter out most of the clowns. The ringside seats still have their fair share of idiots but they're usually outside of the price range of the regular bunch of trouble makers you get.

Lads will be lads.
Re: Trouble with Martin Murray lot again
It's alright when they get into other lads who want a go; it's not always how it happens though. There are plenty of hard nuts happy to get stuck into anyone who's about with no provocation.Aden wrote:Lads will be lads.

Love how people excuse thug behaviour as lads will be lads. Boxing has a real problem with fans trouble, every show I have been to there has been several kick offs and in some cases full scale brawls. I have been to 7 UFC events and not seen one spot of bother ever.
Mrs likes to go with me and you can't tell me it's acceptable we have to move a few times just so we aren't in the middle of a big kick off. Doesn't happen anywhere else, football is fine if you don't go looking for it, boxing it comes to you whatever the circumstances

I disagree. I have never had a fight or had to talk my way out of one at boxing. I have been to hundreds too, at all levels, sometimes pissed out of my head, sometimes on my own, sometimes sober with children. I have seen quite a few, though nowhere near as bad as you make out, I see far worse in the city centre on a Saturday night. Its the combination of young males, alcohol and the odd line or two, not the sport.jackukmma wrote:Love how people excuse thug behaviour as lads will be lads. I also love how everyone blames it on football fans, I'm willing to bet that the overwhelming majority of boxing fans are also football fans as well.jackukmma wrote:Love how people excuse thug behaviour as lads will be lads. I think you're right Mickey. However I do think the occasional flare-up can take people who're unaccustomed to, or have forgotten because they've grown up long since, what it is like at times on a night out in town when the young and daft are out. I'd rather it not happen at boxing, or anywhere else, but it inevitably will - at least until such a point that humans are completely inert.mickey1975 wrote:I disagree. Re: Trouble with Martin Murray lot again
A favourite on here. If there's trouble, it's always football fans who are then generalised as animals. If a fighter doesn't sell tickets, he gets slagged off, if he's a draw, but his support comes from around one football club, he's got a load of knobhead casual fans who are after a fight following him, can't win either way.banjo wrote:I also love how everyone blames it on football fans, I'm willing to bet that the overwhelming majority of boxing fans are also football fans as well.jackukmma wrote:Love how people excuse thug behaviour as lads will be lads. Re: Trouble with Martin Murray lot again
Point I was trying to make was people genarilise it as footy fans with drinks in them. It's not it's idiots intent on causing trouble, Froch groves it went off just in front off me mid fight, decent seats and you've sat there all might so why cause a scene when the main events on? Joshua debut it went off everywhere starting with a load of farmer types dressed up to the nines, could see it coming a mile off started as friendly banter between another group then ended as full scale riot with people searching for missing teeth. Both Hatton-Senchenko and Crolla-Mathhews we have both been showered in pints, again it's nearly a £5er a pint what the fornicate are you doing throwing pints at each other for, we luckily moved after this before another set or scuffles. Don't tell me it comes with the territory, it's f fornicating joke spoiling it for the majority by a few mindless idiots. Theses are only a few examples aswell. There was trouble at every show I attended this year, nothing at about 20 football games or UFC though, strange that isn't it?

Re: Trouble with Martin Murray lot again
Not really. The football fans tend to fight well away from the stadium as its far too well policed. You wont find two different sets of boxing fans organising a punch up miles away from the venue, sometimes planned in advance. Froch-Groves was more or less trouble free except the fight in the floor seats during the main event. Hatton-Senchenko, I saw none. You should be thankful you weren't at Barnsley Metrodome in September....jackukmma wrote:Point I was trying to make was people genarilise it as footy fans with drinks in them. It would probably be more entertaining than some of the fight cards put on. Should broadcast that on sky instead.
