If Boxrec is correct (which I believe it is) how the fcuk can someone who has has only had 5 fights (won 4) be fighting for the Commonwealth Title?

Dec 9th, Kevin Anderson v Agoe Ashong (somebody please tell me this is not true)

Is this another case of us boxing fans having the piss taken out of us? and with a banger like Anderson is this not a tad dangerous?

According to British boxing net: he had Ashong comes into the contest as the reigning West African welterweight champion and has won 15 of his 16 fights, 7 by stoppage.

Here is a Boxer who won the WBO World Championship in his 6th pro fight

Titles in boxing often raise questions how people get to fight for them, I'd not read too much into how they get some of these title fights. If we were to list farse title fights, we'd be here all night

If he's gone the distance with Duran, that's pretty decent, although what the scores were is another thing. There are so many domestic fights that could hypothetically happen that would be amazing. The big problem of course is politics and protecting fighters and their unblemished records. Alledgedly.

Just seems a bit strange, especially with the strict (which I agree with) rules the The British Boxing Board have nowadays.

And with Sky's new hard stand against poor match up's, there's no way they will accept this as a main event.

Boxrec records are not always complete, its quite possible he has had a lot more fights.

That all depends on who the promoter is and who the fighter is,not excatly consistent is the boxing board

There are fighters that have won world titles in their 3rd fight. It is very possible that african records here are incomplete.

I thourght Veraphol Sahaprom had won it in his 3rd fight, it was his 4th. (WBA bantam)
Saensak Muangsurin won the WBC light welter in his 3rd fight.
