No. Murray will be ridiculed after this fight and be forced to fight someone relevant. BJS will probably become interim champ. I'd like to see him best Eubank Jr

Nothing left at domestic level, time to look at the European title and then a move towards the WBC belt that will most likely be vacant by the end of 2014.

Based on what? Do you think Jr will ever fight anyone decent? Etches has been screaming for him for ages.

He already seems to be approaching his level in high domestic company. I see him as hard grafting but feather-fished, Anthony Farnell type of talent. Unless it's the WBU title, I don't see any world or European title wins on the horizon.

Billy is a top fighter, I rate him highly and he definitely has a good boxing brain.

My concerns is how much he blows up between fights, and was even talking about fighting up at 168lb recently(DeGale) I just think he'll be too small at the weight. Just would like him to see him live more of disciplined life outside of the ring.

I want to see more of Chris Eubank JR. It's possible he might be the real deal, but it's too early to say he hasn't really fought anyone of note yet.

with all due respect to arnie who posts on here (and I had a soft spot for because of his pure passion for the game), BJS talent FAR exceeds his. He was an Olympian FFS. Arnie was all heart (by his own admission).

The one aspect of BJS that has surprised me is his power, or apparent lack of it. I really thought he was going to be a major banger.

I still think he has major talent and can compete at least on the fringes of world class and maybe his man strength will come.... he is a youngster. Should have learned loads from the Ryder fight - can see it having a similar impact as Hatton vs Magee.

Argument sounds great, except when you watch clips of both and it becomes obvious that Olympian (flop) or not, Saunders absolutely has no more fighting ability than Farnell!

I disagree Polecateddy - think it is apparent the Billy has quicker hands and better defense than Farnell. I can see the comparison in the fact that he is a come forward fighter (in the main) with an apparent lack of one punch KO power but a good engine. However, I do think there is more to Billy in terms of raw natural talent than Farnell (sorry Arnie).

I think it is not "helping" case when at least 3 of the big 4 domestically are geniune world class fighters (jury is still out on Lee a tad)... whereas in Farnell's case the best of the domestic light middles were European level at best. I'd put Saunders in with Bursak tomorrow (in the UK) and thats a level Farnell never won at (again sorry Arnie).

Im not I would class Billy as a come forward fighter. I mean he does come forward in his fights but he's always very technical about it. He's not like a bull in china shop in his approach.

I don't see how he can squeak home against Ryder - and he was flagging at the end - and be ready to dethrone a Euro champ?! He's not is he!

Agree - trying to see the comparison. It always is better for these more aggresive fighters to have that crucial pop. Billy in some ways reminds me of a better version of Matthew Hatton (which again shows he is European level).

Bursak had one or two struggles against Prince Aaron (who was a late notice job and not had many fights at the weight if I am not mistaken). Aaron is awkard yes, but not famed for outstanding stamina himself.

Ryder isn't a bad fighter in his own right.

Saunders should be put in with a halfway decent name like, Brian Vera. See if he sinks or swims. (Bursak well outpointed that guy a couple of years ago.)

Bj did show power early on but I think he holds back because his hands are brittle.i don't think there's anyone in the country who can stick & move as classy as billy, frankie Gavin included.
& to call the mancunian warrior farnell feather fisted!! Deserves a back hand from jimmy saville!! Tell lee blundell & the jock Lawrence wots his face!!

& anyone who think Eubanks jr can test Saunders has no clue! The lad is a novice a good one, him v bj is like kell brook v Matthew hatton

Vera is a dangerman though. He's a guy that can either get completely outpointed/knocked out or he can pull a performance out of the bag like when he fought Andy Lee the first time.

Decent call Polecateddy... I would like to see that.

Personally I think when Vera is on form he is better than Bursak... but his inconsistency is a problem. In someways I would see it as a more of a gamble for BJS than Bursak (power difference)... but yes, if he cannot be Vera then he should really forget about World level - although Andy Lee regrouped pretty well.

But that completely ignores the fact that Eubank Jr isn't actually very good, refuses to take a fight where the opponent has decent notice and is capable of beating him. He won't fight Etches and has pulled out of purse bids with Blackwell and Butler.

Billy Jo needs to be pushed forward - like Frankie Gavin it depends if Warren is willing to put his money where his mouth is.

A fight with a ranked fighter like Sam Solliman shouldnt be too hard to make. Does Saunders sell plenty of tickets ? I dont see him selling out arenas so it might be hard to progress him unless he's willing to go on the road, or Warren's willing to take a hit in the short term to raise his profile.
