Best Weight Division in the UK?

Which weight division does everyone think is the hottest/deepest in the UK at the moment?

Some more obvious ones are;

Heavyweight - Fury (if he makes a comeback!), Haye (again, if he comes back), Chisora, Price, Joshua, Hughie Fury etc

Super Middleweight - Froch, Groves, Degale, Paul Smith, Callum Smith, Rocky Fielding etc

Middleweight - Barker (If he manages to recover), Murray, Macklin, BJS, Ryder, Eubank Jr, O'Kane, Hope, Etches, Agogo etc

Welterweight - Khan, Brook, Gavin, Purdy, Theopane, Vassell, Skeete etc

Lightweight - Burns, Mitchell, Crolla, Flanagan, Rees, Matthews, Coyle, Campbell, Gethin, Cardle, Martin J Ward etc

Super Bantamweight - Quigg, Frampton, Kid Galahad, Jazza Dickens, Gav Mcdonnell etc

These divisions seem to have 1 or 2 world level boxers along with a good amount of top domestic boxers.

Any other suggestions?

I went for Super-Middle as there are a few very big fights there, but for quantity of even fights the Lightweight division takes some beating in which John Murray can also be added to the mix.
Middleweight as good as it is I just dont see them meeting each other due to the promoter situation.

Super Middle for me. Three genuine world class operators in Froch, Groves & Degale. Very good prospect in Rocky Fielding and Paul Smith a solid Euro-level type chap.

Purely for competitiveness and tough fights to call I would go for Lightweight.

Maybe a mention for Super Feather also.... I wouldn't like to predict the outcome of a "Super 5" out of.... Smith, Walsh, Buckland, Webb and Simpson. Smith is top dog at the moment, I wouldn't write off Buckland or Simpson just yet despite bad defeats last time out.

I thought about including Super Feather but just not deep enough. You're right though, some very interesting match-ups.

Middle closely followed by lightweight for me.

Who's webb?. Buckland is moving up to lightweight. But smith walsh sykes simpson is an interesting 4 way battle

sorry.... error there... dont know why i always get sam webb and Gary Sykes names mixed up.

I wasn't sure if Bucklands move up was a permanent thing. Liked him at Super Feather... looked Stong.

I'd say so heard rumours he struggled to get down to weight for smith fight. He was a monster at super feather.

Back to thread tho lightweight is a great division domesticly at the moment loads of 50-50 fights. Also middle weight with a number of up and coming fighters.

supermiddle by a distance,

three really top class fighters who are on the world scene,

the lightweights are good but they are nowhere near world level apart from Ricky Burns,
They should just fight each other and have good fights but will all get knocked out when they step up a level.

Agreed you also have the possibility of guys like BJS, Eubank Jr, Martin Murray, Anthony Ogogo moving up into that division as well at some point which domestically makes it a cornucopia of big marketable names all in the same division. Theres also other names guys Buglioni and callum smith already making it up the ranks and gaining a big fan base.

Callum is going to have a very decent career mate... not sure if hes world class to early to tell...
