Dear Boxingfans,
I have another request.
I'm searching for a photo of the NYSAC Belt (New York State Athletic Commission).
Throughout my research I discovered that the NYSAC was crowning world champions from 1922 starting with Dempsey until Frazier in 1970.
Afterwards it became part of the WBC.
After numerous emails and phonecalls, someone from a New York boxing Museum told me that the NYSAC itself wasn't giving out belts.
But the promoters of the Champions were giving their champions belts.
And that's what I'm looking for, I want a photo of a NYSAC Heavyweight belt if possible in colour.
I don't know but their might be one of those belts in a museum
Maybe someone can help me out, I appreciate your assistance and wish everyone a merry x-mas and happy holidays
NYSAC Promoter Belts
Re: NYSAC Promoter Belts
The year 1922 also saw the debut of The Ring magazine, which began handing out its own belts. If your source says the NYSAC itself wasn't handing out belts, which seems accurate, how do you expect to locate a color picture of one? :?? (If a promoter instead created one, I doubt it would say "NYSAC Heavyweight Champion"; it would simply say "World Heavyweight Champion.")
