this year, kell brook almost had a world title fight.
what's the likelihood he'll challenge shawn porter or marcos maidana?
How many World Champs do we have?
Re: How many World Champs do we have?
I largely agree with The Ring's placement of British fighters, though I think Chisora also deserves a spot in the top ten (lol at Wilder being ahead of him). I don't believe Hall should be in the top ten even though he picked up a belt.
Re: How many World Champs do we have?
ring's ranking of fighters is truly bizarre and often seems agenda driven.
for instance, the prevalence of unproven (at elite level) americans in the p4p rankings such as broner and a while back guerrero. in fact, the ranking of guerrero and alvarez as p4p top ten guys prior to facing mayweather was transparent.
over on our side, kell brook and carl Frampton have been ranked unusually highly regarding their mostly thin bodies of work, though both have talent and bags of style.
didn't gavin rees get suddenly ranked in their top 10 lightweights - was it just before or just after broner stopped him?

And how many of there 17 would you consider top 10?expe wrote:The Ring, although not necessarily the most reliable, have 17 British fighters ranked top 10 and I'd expect Hall to be added pretty soon now he's won the title.funtime wrote:how many guys have we even got that are top 10 in there divisions?
HW - Fury
CW - none (Afolabi so doesn't count
LHW - arguably none after recent defeats, though i'd say that bth Clev & bomber scrape in.
SMW - Froch & Groves ( though on paper Groves may not cut it)
MW - Murray
LMW - none
WW - Brook & Khan maybe, but again definitely at the lower end
LWW - none
LW - Burns
SFW - none
FW - none
SBW - Fampton & quigg
BW - Mcdonnell at a push
and none below them weights either.
so out of all weight classes I'd say we have maybe 7 fighters top 10 in a division.
